Rich Rod going to be the OC at Louisiana-Monroe.

Man used to be the head coach at Michigan. Harsh.

Well, as far as ego, yes. He's been paid handsomely I'm sure.

But back to the point, yeah, he never should have left West Virginia. That just shows you that the grass isn't always greener. Those system coaches have a 'peak' and he could have hit it there. And no matter what the blowhards say, he actually WAS successful at Michigan, he had to rebuild the whole program. Did he need to do that? Maybe not, but it's the Michigan folks who hired him. You hire a system coach, they have to implement the system. He was on an upward trend and then Brady Hoke went 10-2 with his guys.

I think at Arizona he had just passed his prime slot. But his offense can still smoke. I wish we ran his type of thing at MSU.

Yeah, i can see why a lot of schools steer clear from him after allegations of what he's done at Michigan and Arizona. He is definitely not a players coach.

I think you're right about staying at WVU. I didn't realize it was his alma mater until just now.

I'm not even saying he's a bad coach or should have been let go at Michigan or Arizona. (To be fair, his HC successors have never lasted more than 3 years.)

I just saw that he had been hired at ULM and remembered the Gator Bowl and Chris Relf ending Rich Rod's tenure at Michigan and the contrast of being the HC at Michigan vs the OC at ULM. That Gator Bowl seems like a lifetime ago now.

I know he didn't kill it at Ole Miss, but I thought he did well enough there that he'd be able to remain a P5 OC. Or get a G5 head coaching job. I'm shocked he's working as an OC at ULM. I know he's not old, but I would think he'd just retire at some point. Surely he's made plenty of money at this point.

I would rather live in a van down by the river than move back to Monroe for a job.

His offense along with about a dozen others around the country relied heavily on the defense not being set yet leaving huge gaps on the field. Once the refs started stalling the ball over the center RR's offense went to ****.

He has millions and millions of dollars in his bank accounts as we speak. Yeah, I don’t feel sorry for the dude one bit. Their profession is incredibly unpredictable / unstable, but it is also incredibly lucrative.
