As bad we hate them, as a member of the SEC, thank God we have them. At the end of the day, they’re all we’ve got. Because 17 the other conferences. Yes, I’ve been drinking. Fire away.

I think its great that a SEC team wins the Championship almost every year. It proves that we play in the toughest conference by far. They had stiffer competition in the SEC than the championship game. Ole Miss played them tougher the Ohio State. Florida played them tougher, etc etc

The SEC is Alabama and everybody else.

All of college football is Alabama and everybody else. That doesn't take away from the SEC. Beyond Alabama, the SEC is still the most elite conference. Anytime someone tries to say the SEC is no good outside of Alabama, ask the question, "Compared to what?" Eliminate Alabama and the other Power 5 conferences' best programs, and the SEC is still the best.

CFP appearances
SEC: 2 by 2 different teams (not Alabama)
ACC: 1 (not Clemson)
Big Ten: 1 (not Ohio State)
Pac-12: 1 (not Oregon)
Big 12: 0 (not Oklahoma)

CFP championship game appearances
SEC: 2 by 2 different teams (not Alabama)
ACC: 0 (not Clemson)
Big Ten: 0 (not Ohio State)
Pac-12: 0 (not Oregon)
Big 12: 0

CFP championships
SEC: 1 (not Alabama)
ACC: 0 (not Clemson)
Big Ten: 0 (not Ohio State)
Pac-12: 0
Big 12: 0

If you include the BCS era, the SEC is even deeper compared to the other Power 5 conferences.

BCS/CFP championship game appearances
SEC: 10 by 5 different teams (not Alabama)
ACC*: 7 by 3 different teams (not Clemson)
Pac-12: 2 (not Oregon)
Big 12: 2 (not Oklahoma)
Big Ten*: 1 (not Ohio State)

BCS/CFP championships
SEC: 7 by 4 different teams (not Alabama)
ACC*: 3 by 2 different teams (not Clemson)
Pac-12: 1 (not Oregon)
Big 12: 1 (not Oklahoma)
Big Ten: 0 (not Ohio State)

*-In judging current strength, I'm giving the ACC and Big Ten credit for current teams' accomplishments, despite being while members of other conferences.

At this point it doesn't change much if Alabama wins another national championship. It sucked to watch them back in 2009-2012 or so, but does it really matter anymore? If MSU and Starkville still existed yesterday, this newest title isn't going to move the needle.

Man, when it comes to football, we've had it about as bad as it can be. Cam Newton, then the greatest dynasty ever is the closest rival school to us, 80 miles down the road.

At some point the other conferences are going to get tired of the deck being stacked in Alabama's favor. Would you rather play in the toughest division in the toughest conference in football or be Ohio State winning a conference?
