On Saturday. I’m 43 but work in the OR so I had early access to it.

I developed a mild headache on Saturday night into Sunday morning. Then by Sunday afternoon I developed pretty significant head congestion with a runny nose. Thankfully that’s all cleared up today.

Just thought I’d share my experience with the vaccine so far.

This article does a great job explaining why the vaccine creates these symptoms without the presence of a virus.

I’ve had both rounds of the Pfizer. So has my wife.
We each had sore arm for a day with first dose; felt fine.
I had less soreness with second dose. And still felt fine. She had a lot of soreness and some swelling around her armpit and shoulder. She felt very flu like and had fever up to 103, but it broke after about 30 hours. She felt back to normal after 2 days.

Added bonus; I was exercising this weekend, and my heart rate got up pretty good. Got a sudden text from Bill gates making sure I was ok. I guess these chips aren’t so bad after all.

I’ve heard multiple people mention 1 to 2 days of flu like symptoms after their shot.

I find this surprising, because the vaccine in a dose of mRNA, right? Is that just people’s immune system spiking in the days after the injection? There shouldn’t be any viral exposure to my knowledge.

I'm no immunologist, but yeah; anytime you generate an immune response there's going to be a good chance you experience some kind of symptoms. That mRNA encodes the Spike protein, your immune system thinks you're infected, and you get the bells and whistles of an illness for a day or two.

Even just a flu shot does that to me. 2 days of feeling like crap and fever.

My parents got the Moderna vaccine yesterday. Mother has quite a few health problems so we have been pretty nervous this whole year. No problems

Gave my wife 2 days of Flu symptoms.

I read a dr’s explanation of this yesterday. He said when you get a flu or COVID vaccine, it gets your immune system started and going and any fever, ache’s, etc. is just your immune system kicking in and it is very common.

I had it happen to me about four years ago when I got a flu shot. I felt pretty bad for a couple of days. One other time, I felt a little achy that night but every other time, nothing but a sore arm.

My work is offering it to be next week, but I am not able to get it since I have the virus right now. Anyone get the vaccine within 90 days of having the virus? That’s the amount of time I was told I had to wait

Me - Pfizer - mild arm soreness, if that, exercised, ran, etc. w/o issues
Brother - Pfizer - no issues; went home and did olympic lifts
Dad - Pfizer - arm soreness for two days
Mom - Moderna - no issues
Wife - Moderna - arm soreness for two days

I think my sister, brother in law, and other brother have all gotten it without issue as well, but I haven't called them up to ask whether they had arm soreness or not. We're all good. None of us had any flu-like/whatever stuff though certainly happens. Go get it when you can

I've had the first dose of Moderna. I had a sore arm for a couple of days, that was it. That is exactly what the flu shot does to me.

Anyone have a parent over 75 take the shots? I'm curious because my mother gets hers on the 14th. I would like to tell her what to expect.

I'm "over 75" and I recently took Moderna #1. Ok that day, slept all the next day, arm sore enough I couldn't sleep on that side for two nights, but now completely ok. Ready for #2. Never was sick.

It just syncs with your iPhone automatically. You don't even have to do anything.
