It's accumulating more than I thought it would. My buddy down in Port Gibson says it's almost a blizzard down there.

It's coming down hard in Brandon. Rankin county schools closed for in building school. They will learn from home.

I went to the grocery store yesterday in Meridian...just a normal weekly restocking. I was surprised to see the shelves picked over. We did get a little snow but hell it will be gone by noon. Amazing how people overreact to a forecast.

You should see how fast the shelves are picked over in south mississippi when a potential storm wave is cited off the coast of Africa

I’ll never understand why people don’t look at the temperature forecast in these events. Ok yeah, it might snow, but if the temp is going to get up to 40 the next afternoon and 50 the day after that, I’m pretty sure you won’t be stranded at home.

Or the fact that it is only gonna be worst case a 24 hour event. I could find enough m&m's in the couch cushions to live for 24 hours.

Forecasts have obviously gotten better over the years. But the 3 times I can remember actually getting snowed in for a few days in NEMS weren't forecasted to be a big deal. People who've gotten burned like that before aren't going to let it happen again.

The perfect snow in central MS. Got 3” with a temp of 36-33deg surface temps. Nothing stuck on roads, but had enough on grass to build snowman and have snowball fights. Power never even flickered and they’ll be back in school tomorrow.
