haha - mullin telling NFL teams he's interested - as if we couldn't tell from

the bowl game performance.

"multiple public moments where mullin's antics have put the university in a bad light"

Florida's first ncaa probation in 30 years

Shocked

Never saw this coming**

My favorite part of this story was when Mullen said the last game off the 2020 season was the SEC championship and he thought the scout team played well in the bowl game. That’s classic Dan.

Wouldn't the HC job for the jets be considered a lateral move? Asking for a friend.

Probably. I wouldn’t make that jump. The chance to work with Watson in Houston would be appealing to me. Also, the Chargers and Jags could both have HC openings with Herbert and Lawrence at QB.

Mullen will eventually be a NFL HC. Will it be this year? I don’t know.

I am seeing some stuff that says Meyer to the Jags. If so he could go as OC there for a year or two. Also I have seen some stuff saying HC for the Jets.

Mullen will always be his own worst enemy. He wears his emotions on his sleeve, and that’s not a good thing for an elite HC. He’s a great coach, but he tends to pout when things don’t go his way, and his teams always reflect that. He can’t power through adversity and keep that edge when it counts.

Maybe he will do well in the NFL, but he will never win it all in college. He can’t maintain a high level of focus and determination for a full season.

Do you think Mullen, with all of his ego is going to take a pay cut to coach under someone, even if it is Meyer.

Like I said. He can build a team but doesn't know what to do with when it's built.

No kidding. Saying that Mullen is an arrogant ******* is like saying the sky is blue or water is wet. It’s just a widely known fact, and you really have to wonder what it’s like to be married to him.

The question all along, though, has been whether he could be what he is while winning championships at Florida, and if so... they’d make it work. If not, as many on here predicted 3 years ago, he’d wear out his welcome in a hurry

His scout team comment really puts his bitchiness on full display. Rather than congratulate a team for whipping your tail, he always has to take a cheap shot to diminish what you’ve done.

If by chance some NFL team offers him a job, he should take it.

There is no way in this world a major college head coach is leaving for an assistant coaching job in the NFL. If Mullen leaves, it will be for a NFL head coaching job.

Sometimes I feel like part of it is because good coaches know when to take a step back and let their talent do their jobs. Mullen seems to have a serious issue with meddling, and I don’t feel like his coaches ever fully have free reign to call the shots. At the least, when they 17 up, Mullen’s gonna make sure the whole world knows about it.

In short, when you’re a grade A jackass, it makes it really hard to build a consistent, winning culture.

Perfect summation, and also the reason he's always looking to jump ship.

If he'd just look in the mirror, and have the balls to turn loose of the Xs/Os just a little bit, and focus a tad bit more on recruiting, no telling how good he could be.

If he wants to continue to micromanage the offense, he should go to the NFL. But that's really not his percentage play. I guess he could always pull a Saban/Carroll and come back, most any college team would take him in a heartbeat.
