It’ll be a bad sign for that program. They’ve had some questionable efforts in bowl games recently, but I think their 2020 season has been much different for this team.

UGA has known since the Cocktail Party they weren’t getting in the SECT much less CFB. So, they can’t be too disappointed with this bowl selection. They’re playing an hour from Athens. Plus, JT Daniels should be 100% bought in on playing this game. He has a chance to gain a ton of momentum headed into next year with a good game.

If they look uninterested, it’s a bad sign.

It makes the whole conference look bad when 2 of the top 4 teams get blown out in bowl games. And yeah, I understand opt outs, disinterested, etc. Doesn't matter. If the SEC is losing its bowl games, it makes the whole conference look bad.

I think it’s pretty obvious the SEC was down this year. It was Alabama and then a huge chasm to the next best team. I think A&M will win the Orange Bowl but wouldn’t be surprised if every other SEC team lost except Alabama.

UNC might win that game

A bad sign for Kirby, IMO. A loss today means he has roughly the same results after 4 seasons as Mark Richt. Plus, several (ugly?) bowl losses. It doesn’t look like UGA is going to walk off from Florida now and they seem just as far away from Bama as they were when Kirby took over.

Two years ago, I thought Kirby was going to have them higher than that.

So far, it looks like LPGA and his fighting golf visors are a no show.

Over the past 4-5 years, Georgia has always seemed like an elite team that’s just a half step or so behind Bama. For some reason, though, this Georgia team is a lot more than a half step behind the CFP teams. Their defense is unusually mediocre, and they’ve really struggled to score points at times this year too.

What’s the deal with Kirby? Is he just not that great of a coach but an elite recruiter?

That's a legit question but I don't know that we'll know the answer anytime in the near future. I personally think he would really struggle (lose) with anywhere near average talent.

With no non conference games, we really haven’t had a clue of the SEC is up or down this year. But the bowl season isn’t looking good so far.

Fairly or unfairly, he is going to have to overcome the perception that his offense is stuck in a prior era.

Not sure what has been up with Daniels and the deep ball today either. That’s now 3 times today where a Georgia receiver has beaten the deep secondary, but Daniels threw a 35 yard duck. He has not looked anything like he did when we played them

Didn’t say he wasn’t but he’s not the level of QB UGA needs to take them back to the top of the East
