All the stat dorks said he’d never amount to anything. Love seeing them get their face rubbed in this.

Cam getting benched is icing on the cake.

Hope Allen stays in Buffalo awhile, I might have to pull for them.

Phillip Rivers 2.0... Great arm talent, but doesn't have the make-up to win on the big stages.

Who said he’d never amount to anything? Even as a rookie throwing tons of picks, you could see the athletic potential in the running game. Diggs / Brown / Beasley are of course a big upgrade from Zay Jones and Kelvin Benjamin too. It’s been fun to watch him develop.

Mostly college pundits, Bill Connelly and Steven Godfrey in particular. Mainly back right before the draft.

I’m thinking you must be a Buffalo fan. Your criticism of Tua for having a mediocre rookie season vs how you could see potential of Allen during his rookie season is odd. Allen has certainly turned out to be good but there were a lot of people wondering if Buffalo should still be looking for a QB after his rookie season, it was not pretty. I’d argue Tua has had a much better rookie season.

I see. Can honestly say I’ve never followed much of Godfrey’s NFL player takes. Not sure if he has a ton of cred or not much at all in that department.

Been able to draft Allen in fantasy the last two years. I think the secret is out now.

How do we know? He’s been in Wyoming and Buffalo. That’s akin to what Dak has done at MSU and Dallas. Dallas’s playoff streak is akin to the Bills. Both QBs had to overcome playing at non traditional football schools and both went to NFL franchises that can’t get out of their own way. Allen and the Bills are close to what Dak and the Cowboys were finishing year 3 and that’s probably being generous to Dak. The improvements JA has made from year 1 until now lends one to believe that more is to come.

I love the kid (he’s 4 years younger than my baby sister so I can say kid) and I hope I get to watch him and Majomes fight over the AFC for the next 15 years and I hope a cpl of those years ends with Dak getting the best of them in the SB.

Nah, not really attached to Buffalo in any capacity. And you are right...Allen was terrible as a passer when he first got to the league, but flashed in the running game enough to where he was able to stay relevant. Is Tua’s rookie year better overall? Hard to tell. He’s had better passing numbers but also plays on a much better team than Allen did his rookie year. He also hasn’t played anywhere close to a full season, or done anything really exceptional yet. That’s kinda the thing with Tua, he hasn’t really done anything at an elite level yet except not throw interceptions. And Allen didn’t have near the hype as Tua, I’d compare him more to Daniel Jones where people could see the potential but also acknowledged a few question marks. But I still don’t know anyone that definitively thought before he ever even got drafted that he would just be terrible.

He acts like a hot head. Same as Rivers. That's who he reminds me of... Take it or leave it.

Some guys turn the ball over more than others, especially rookie QBs. Some have 17ing cannons and are formidable runners. You can coach up the first part but not the second part. Allen ran for like 600 yards and had a 1 to 1.2 TD to INT rate. It wasnt a disaster. Tua hasnt turned the ball over but even his coach has pulled him the way Saban pulled Hurts for him ("I just thought, 'We need to throw the ball, and he does it better.'")

Would be interesting to see Tua with a surrounding cast like Allen has now or Herbert has in LA though.

I see what you’re saying on Allen. I do agree with you that he seemed to have something even back in his rookie season, you could just tell that the players were bought in to him and it could be special.

I like him. In my opinion, Buffalo is the only team that could potentially challenge Kansas City this year in the AFC. I think the Steelers are a fraud this year. Miami, Baltimore probably don’t have good enough offense to beat KC. And I really don’t know how the Titans are good. Henry is great and AJ Brown has been good. Outside of that, they feel like an average team that seems to win. If rivers gets hot, you could see the colts being able to stay with KC.

Phillip Rivers? He and Allen are similar in that they are white and throw a football for a living, but that's where the similarities end. Rivers on his best day wasn't the athlete that Allen is. Rivers is the very definition of a pocket passer. He's more appropriately a pocket statue. Josh Allen is a threat with his feet as well.

All the success and still having to fight racism from ESPN commentators.
I've got no problem with the ones who fight so hard for Kyler Murray or Lamar Jackson, because they are obviously good players, but I don't see why they criticized Josh Allen so much. Their agenda has made them retarded.
