For everyday, Woodford Reserve is my favorite followed by Nelson's Greenbriar. Woodford double oaked is about as good as it gets to me. I keep a bottle of Angels Envy handy for sipping with some of my favorite cigars. If you haven't tried it, Angels Envy rye is amazing. When I'm mixing drinks and getting sloshed, I'll grab Wild Turkey 101.

I’ve found that whiskey in plastic bottles is always better than glass bottles. Glass leaves a bad aftertaste.

BT and McKenna are almost impossible to find in MS right now, and for good reason. Them and the Russell’s 10 are some of the best bang for your buck. Not in the “high end” price point, but they are every bit as good if not better than some higher end stuff. Which is why they are so hard to get your hands on.

10 year McKenna won a national award and it's been a mfer to find less than $80/750ml and that's even if you can find it.

Buffalo Trace, Blanton’s, Hudson Baby, and Jefferson’s very small batch.

Although I bought my dad some Calumet 10 year the other day and it was fantastic. Next I’m trying the 12.

I’ve gone through Buffalo Trace & Mitchters and now it’s mostly TX. I really like it.

I'm not a Bourbon drinker, I only do two, one is Blanton's. The other is something semi-local I mentioned once on here. I got laughed at because it wasn't properly aged. I laughed at that and said ok, I gave you your chance.

Let’s not. Cousin brought some from Arkansas to my Christmas party last night and had me drunk enough to call up the crazy stalker ex for a night of fun. Now I’m knee dip in the ******* with every friend/relative of mine

Willett is starting to get hard to find, great stuff. that, Blanton's and Maker's Mark. Wild Turkey in a coke is football in a glass.

I’m a beer fan first but I also love gin— especially Bristow.

I hope you love Old Soul. I’m acquainted with a lot of folks at Cathead and I had kind of felt self-conscious because I’m not a Vodka fan.

A lot depends on how much you like rye. Personally I like less rye. I also drink enough to where I don't like to spend too much money. Shopping buying and tasting is fun for a while, but bourbon is a marketing racket. My go-to bourbons are:

Buy a bottle for company-
Willetts (my favorite distillery on the bourbon trail)
Woodford Double Oaked
Makers (don't use rye)

Always a handle in the bar - plain old Four Roses. You absolutely cannot beat four roses for price. Makes a smooth old fashioned.

Sorry, but I am not a fan of the Buffalo Trace line. Went on the bourbon trail last summer and it's the Walmart of bourbons. 90% of the bourbons we are talking about are all owned the Sarazac Company. In my opinion they ruined the Buffalo Trace line including Pappys when they bought it in 2009.

Fixed it for you. Pro tip:
If your guests want a Coke product and all you have is Pepsi, there is no work around. But if you have Coke products and they want Pepsi, all you have to do is pour it in a glass and sprinkler about 2 grams of dirt per ounce of Coke in and... Viola. You have Pepsi.

Just received Calumet as a gift last night. Never had it. Going to open it tonight, and wait on Santa’s fat *** to come help me start putting stuff together.

Love Angels Envy.
Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace at the price point can’t be beat.
Wilderness Trail also great.

Personally not really a fan of Wyoming Whiskey ( hey to each his own ) but the “Big Horn Bourbon “ made up in Montana is something that I really like. Smooth and just a little bit sweet. I did a side by side taste test of the two at a restaurant in Jackson Hole a couple of years ago and the Big Horn just suited my personal taste. I highly recommend it.

This is absolutely the truth. Love Woodford Double Oaked. Also, Old Forester 1910 and Eagle Rare are outstanding.

I’ll help you out here. Just bought Clyde mays because I noticed it in the store for the first time because of this thread and I’m drinking it on the rocks now. Certainly not bad but I don’t love it and not something I would expect the price to sky rocket on. It was $31 and I think there are plenty of bourbons in that range that are comparable and no way for them to raise it u less they just get hyped up beyond reason.

A friend of mine got me a bottle of Blackened for Christmas. It's the Metallica bourbon. I cracked it open and had some and it's really good.

My sons bought me some Long Branch for Xmas. Joint effort by wild Turkey and Matthew mcCaughahay. Just poured it up. If ur not into bourbons with a sweet flavor, this is ur bourbon. Heavy oak taste. Outstanding. Mixes with a coke better than anything I’ve tried. Great by itself too. I’m very impressed.

The more you taste the more you will lean toward single barrel, barrel proof varieties. These are uncut and straight from hand selected barrel. When you see 80 proof bourbons that turns me away as they have cut it so much in effort to make better profit. Bottle in Bond at 100 proof is as low as I like to go. I do like Eagle Rare at around 96.

Right now I am drinking Elijah Craig Barrel Proof from C, Stagg Jr. (barrel proof), and Col. Taylor Small Batch (bottle in bond).

As you can tell I like the Buffalo Trace Distillery products and preferable mash bill one.

What was it?

Personally not a Blantons fan. Cool bottle but just ok bourbon. I do not like much on the mash bill 2 from Buffalo Trace which consists of Blantons.
