This football season and recruiting is way past tired to me. It’s been exhausting to watch and keep up with. I’m counting days for baseball. Can we discuss something hopeful for a bit?

Is this the strongest our pitching has been since Hudson, Sexton, etc?

Will Cade Smith get innings this year?

What is our biggest weakness that could keep us from Omaha this year?

What’s the biggest strength we have to lean on?

Expectations?

Cade had a good fall. Mostly likely yes with innings pitched. Strike thrower.

If we see marginal improvement from last season from McLeod, Bednar, and Cerantola... it will be the best starting staff in the history of our program.

If we see a big jump (think Dakota Hudson junior year) from Cerantola, we will have the best staff in the nation.

Where does our offense come from? That’s the biggest question.

Possibly the deepest staff we have ever had. Weaknesses are OF defense and the lack of RH bats.

Yes, our staff is deep. Lemonis even stated that his biggest concern is that there won't be enough innings to give to the amount of quality pitchers.

The problem is everyone else will have loaded teams as well.

ETA: Thanks for bringing up baseball. I've been jonesin' for the Diamond Dawgs since March's cancelation.

What has Cerantola done in fall ball? Does he look like he's improved his control?

Any true power guys sliding into the lineup? I don't mean a 5-8 bomb guy, I mean a 10+ guy. It pains me to see sub-.300 college hitters with no power.

Just random chance. TA, Hatcher and Rowdey (primarily LH) wouldnt be here normally and likely wouldnt be replaced by all LH bats. But we also just dont know enough about James and Tanner. They could fill that void.

Not much surprising info but athletic dept friend tells me to expect seating limitations for baseball too, including LFL. Let the weeping and gnashing of teeth begin! Looking like some who have tickets may not get them because of spacing requirements, but, some may opt out as in football and basketball and ones that do opt in may just be relocated.

They won't know exact limits till they see what the current State of MS rules are. Schedule is still being worked on.

From what I've been told, he's been about the same as this spring. We're still waiting for it to all come together. Hopefully it does in the next month or two.
