She drilled the extra point. If she kicks them all (assuming Vandy scores again) that would be worthy of the award passed out 2 weeks ago.

Every team needs to start carrying extra players that are only capable of partial tasks. Like kickers that only have enough leg to make extra points, punters who can only pooch punt, running backs who only carry the ball if the defense promises not to tackle too hard, etc

So you’re saying she’ll be the SEC special teams player of the week again?

I don’t get all the big fuss and hype about her. I mean we are all equal and should be judged as equals.

She’s not being judged as equal. She’s been given a handicap that says making an extra point or squib kicking a kick off is worthy of awards.

I know you’re being facetious, but that’s actually pretty common. The Titans had ‘Smash and Dash’, Lendale White and Chris Johnson, where White was used primarily for Power formations and short yardage situations and Johnson was used in the open field.

I’ve seen teams, especially at the college level, that have kickers that can hammer in 50+ yarders but struggle with consistency in ‘normal’ field goal range, coupled with kickers that are consistent in short yardage/XPs. State had this a few years ago with Westin Graves and Devon Bell. Don’t act like this is some unheard of setup.

Frankly, there have been plenty of seasons at State where it would have been a luxury to have a kicker that could consistently make FGs within the 10 (or even just extra points).

Most of the time with kickers, it is because the guy with the best accuracy doesn't have the leg to kick a 45-50 yarder. There isn't any real reason to have two kickers otherwise.
