I don't think that's necessarily true for Coastal.

Probably. I can't see BYU losing to SDSU next week, but stranger things have happened. That being said, if Coastal beats BYU and then wins out, they'll not only have the win over BYU, they'll also have two wins over ULL, who beat Iowa State, who has a decent shot at being Big 12 champion.

Truth is, Cincinnati being undefeated in the AAC hurts the other G5 conferences because they collectively only get one guaranteed NY6 spot and there are too many really good SEC and ACC teams, at least one decent Big Ten team (and very mediocre Big 12 and Pac 12 champions) that won't make the playoff to be considered.

That field is just too crowded with good 1 loss Power 5 teams to think multiple G5 schools make it into a NY6 this year.

I can almost guarantee you that beating BYU and/or Coastal Carolina would not be the win that puts Cincy into the CFP.
