Just keep telling yourselves: one more win and we clinch a bowl game. I do.

Trend from the previous listing will be marked as ▲,▼, or -, if available. Due to SEC bowl tiers, some trends are subjective.
CBS: No Bowl -
CFN: Birmingham Bowl vs Memphis -
SaturdayDownSouth: No Bowl (they don't include the Birmingham or Gasparilla bowls)
USA Today: No Bowl ▼
ESPN Bonagura: Birmingham Bowl vs Memphis -
ESPN Schlabach: Birmingham Bowl vs Memphis ▲
Sporting News: No Bowl -
Orlando Sentinel: Gasparilla Bowl vs Central Florida (not updated)
Brett McMurphy: No Bowl ▼
247 Sports: No Bowl -

If I'm understanding the Gasparilla Bowl tie-ins correctly from the SEC, ACC, and AAC sites, I think they will contractually be taking an SEC team, which 247, USA Today, CBS, Sporting News, and Saturday Down South are not taking into account.

Other things to watch:
1. If UGA doesn't make the NY6, that takes away a bowl slot.
2. If the Las Vegas bowl isn't played that takes away a bowl slot.

If we put 4 teams in the playoff/NY6, and LV Bowl is played, 13 SEC teams go bowling.
Otherwise, it could be as few as 11.

Yeah, if we go to a bowl game then Birmingham or St. Pete feels very likely right now.

The Gasparilla (St. Pete) Bowl is an early game on the day after Christmas... I doubt our fans would have a ton of interest in that this year. I bet we would have a pretty good crowd in Birmingham, though. That game is played on New Year's Day this year so most people wouldn't even have to take time off work to go. I also find it hilarious that we could go 2-8 or 3-7 and still play in a bowl game on New Year's Day.

I know this is a weird year and a different set of rules, but no team deserves a bowl game at any W/L record more than 2 games below .500

I hope we get a chance to go at 2-8.
Me too but I just don’t see it happening - especially since UGA is probably not making a NY6 - maybe they do and didn’t know about the LV Bowl maybe not being played.

Would love the Bham Bowl or St Pete Bowl tho.

Records don’t matter. All it takes is someone to want us. Then, you factor in low to possibly no crowds and they will want whichever fan base will have the most tv viewers. I’ll be surprised if we’re not in one.

Tampa/St Pete is hard to beat. I have enjoyed all of my times there except for the 3+ hours known as the 2019 Outback Bowl.

FWIW, Georgia was #9 in the first playoff rankings tonight. That would have them in the NY6 and would bump up every SEC team a notch in the pecking order. Which means if the Las Vegas Bowl gets played we are basically guaranteed a bowl invite even at 2-8.

Any bowl game would be awesome. That means more practice time which is exactly what we need. And like somebody said 2 wins this season is like 6 in a regular season. The players deserve it too. I don't care what you think of the record or how we played it has been rough on them and they have stuck it out
