And end the annual bama clempson osu and few other only teams capable of winning a championship. Return excitement to the post season similar to basketball.

We provided it tonight that it’s not impossible

I think we need to phase it in. Drop it to 20 signees max per calendar year, and 75 total. Run that for a 4 year cycle. Then down to 70 total. But I think we can balance the playing field at 70. But the NFL needs to start supplementing College programs if they are going to be their Minor League with NLI and pay for play College Football players.

Most teams other than us and Vanderbilt will have near 100 on scholarship next year

Just drop the 25 to 20 signees and drop your limits from 85 to 75 after 2 years and to 70 after 4 years.

If the NFL wants a minor league and to have input, let them pay for it. College athletics is for students, not employees.

Shift those 15 to baseballs and that kills the reducing educational opportunities argument. I’ll admit I don’t fully understand the Title IX rules though.

I’ll agree it never happens though for the simple fact that sports media has their “darlings” and everyone is making their money either way. The almighty dollar rules in all of this, nothing else.

Increasing parity would make the value of CFB skyrocket.

Until the total roster size including “walk-ons” the bamas’ will have 20 or so 5 star players sitting bench on reserve.

When bama steam rolls to a championship again this year this will start the conversation

The conversation has already started. It's just a matter of people in power bringing it to the forefront.

The current system was fine when college football was a regional sport, there were only a few channels, & very little TV competition for viewers. But in today's world, with more options, rising costs, etc you better put a good, competitive product on the TV if you want to thrive.

Whether it happens in 2 years, 3 year, or 10 years, college football will be significantly better the day scholarships are reduced. What we're currently seeing just isn't a sustainable product for next 50 years.

Recruited players can't be walk-ons.

Plus this day in age, if a school doesn't offer you a scholarship, it's a sign that they don't really believe in you and with other SEC schools offering a pretty equal development path, it makes no sense to go somewhere you won't play

Yep take a look at recent recruiting rule changes - it was all a gray area where bama exploited the rules. Ncaa just too slow to catch on.

Can't do this. NCAA never gonna bring Saban, Dabo, and a few select others back to a level playing field. They gotta get the most 5 and 4* players.

Biggest bunch of horse crap I've ever heard. So now football has to give out scholarships not even needed to field an adequate team so it can serve as just a scholarship program?

Lowering limit would level the playing field but I think 55 is too small. 60 to 65.
