They have Hill that huge contract and Peyton keeps saying he’s the next guy but when it was time to play another qb he chose Winston

Would be a good landing spot for Dak if the Cowboys decide to move on and draft Justin Fields, no matter what they’re saying now. Jerry loves to make a splash. Could franchise him and then trade him also.

If Jerry is dumb enough to make that move, he will ensure that New Orleans is a playoff team for the next decade. Let’s hope he’s as stupid as most of us believe him to be.

Jimmy sorta fired himself. I like Jimmy, helluva coach, but in most people's jobs you can't clown on your boss.

If they want to put a real defense around Dak I don’t think the cowboys can either, not without moving an Amari or Zeke. Offensive line is shot. And the Cap is going down next year and the franchise tag would count 100% towards the cap. If he were to not be re-signed then if NO or another team signed him they could pay a lot of it as a signing bonus in which the cap hit wouldn’t be nearly as bad as the $35M amount being thrown around.

I’m impartial, I’ll root for whoever he plays for. Not a Saints fan but I would enjoy seeing him there with Peyton. Wasn’t a Cowboys fan before he got there. I grew up a diehard Niners fan bc my mom went to school with the SB kicker Jim Miller. Then I fell in love with the Young/Rice/Watters team but after they left/retired I became just a football fan with no allegiance. I just want him wherever they can put the best team around him and as long as Jerry is pulling the levers I don’t think that place is Dallas.

It actually might be a really good move for the Cowboys. They need a lot more than just a QB to win. Taking Lawrence or Fields for $6M and spending $29M on upgrades at other positions may be a better overall deal for them than paying Dak $35M.

They could find it. Mickey Loomis wipes his *** with dead money every year.

The feeling today seems to be that Brees may miss a few games. They're concerned the injury will get worse if he tries to play through it so they may give him a couple of weeks off to rest before the final stretch run. Next four games are Atlanta (twice), Denver, and Philadelphia, which are all very winnable games even without Brees.

I will say this for Jameis, the man does have some flaws, but he's not just terrible. Obviously INT's have been a major problem for him, but he did throw for 5K yards and 33 TD's last year. You could do a lot worse for your backup QB, as some other teams are learning the hard way this year.

Brees has multiple rib fractures and a collapsed lung.... he will be out a while.

Ed Werder @WerderEdESPN Drew Brees suffered two fractured ribs Sunday against the 49ers and three others on the right side the previous week against the Bucs that were not seen on X-ray until today. Brees has been advised to be cautious with the collapsed lung.
...

Drew Brees threw a damn td pass vs the nfc champs with 5 fractured ribs and a collapsed lung. He's old and fragile, but he's still a BA

I might circle December 20th vs Kansas City as a possible return date. Next four games are against teams with losing records and then a huge home game against the Chiefs.

If this was going to happen, it’s not happening at the worst time in the world.

As a cowboys fan, I’d love to see Dak go to New Orleans. if that comes to fruition, just call me a saints fan. 17 Jerry and Stephen jones.

It probably shouldn’t but his time missed may be affected by how Winston plays. As long as they have a playoff spot locked up I don’t see him playing, not until say week 16 so he would have 2 games to get the rust off. Not saying he would come back before it’s safe if the team goes into a tailspin but as long as they’re afloat they’ll take every game with him resting on the sideline as they can get away with it.

I grew up a diehard Niners fan bc my mom went to school with the SB kicker Jim Miller.

I bought a used 1977 Z28 in 1980 or 81 at Herring-Gear Chevy in Jackson. I found Jim Miller's Ole Miss Grade/Report card in the glove box. I wondered if the car was his Ole Miss signing bonus.

Even better....they could get Lawrence or Fields, have them pan out, and only pay them $5 million TOTAL for their first 4 years in the league. Imagine the team they could put around them!
