can not be allowed to be involved in another football coaching search. Given how the game day experience deteriorated last year he should be fired. The day when you can hire an ex coach as an AD were gone a decade ago. You need to hire a guy with specific training, experience, and education to be an AD. Mark Keemun needs to understand this. I'm not on him because this is a university. I understand we are lacking there too but he has to operate under restrictions that are not his fault. He has done a great job considering, but his hire for AD was atrocious.....IF he actually made that hire.

Done a great job at what? Our academics have crashed. Last in football, last in academics...

Exactly. Keemun needs to go too. I don’t trust him to hire an AD. Or much of anything else.

John Cohen is a joke of an AD. But it's our big donors that hired him. Our big donors are old *** guys that will hold this program back forever.

Oh Cohen is a joke. He has zero qualifications to be an AD. We hired an average at best baseball coach to be an AD at power 5 school. Let that sink in. Could see this coming from a mile away when he got hired in 2016.

We will never be much higher academically under current constraints. We have absolutely ZERO control over that. The focus on numbers is the best we can do.

I’m very much in the “be patient with Leach” camp but I agree 1000% that if this doesn’t work out Cohen must be the first to go.

I mean, our last AD was a former great athlete's SIL. We keep hiring MSU booster connected ADs. It's ridiculous and embarrassing. Cronyism is real at MSU.

I'm afraid you're right. Even if/when Cohen is ousted, there is no reason to think they will make a good choice next time. I hope we get to see if they do however.....I'm sick of Cohen.

But if you take away his connection to Bailey Howell, Stricklin still had a deserving resume, and was thought to be a continuation of Byrne who was very successful in a short time here.

For some reason we let “he sat in during some interviews” be enough of a resume for Cohen.

Look no farther than where Stricklin is now and then watch where Cohen ends up when he's finally gone. That'll be your "sign".

I say we just shut the whole thing down. Raze the buildings and bulldoze the whole site. Plant pine trees and make some money in 2050

That's lunacy. Great leaders make incremental improvements that when added together make big differences in overall outcomes. They do this within all kinds of constraints. Go look at Army football before and after Jeff Monken was hired if you want to see an example.

With your logic it would seem no school within a given state would be able to outperform the other public universities in their respective states. I encourage you to look at the academic rankings of Texas vs Texas Tech, Georgia vs Georgia State, or Florida vs Central Florida.

The Ayers case was in the early to mid 90’s, if that is what you are talking about. I’m talking about how far we have dropped in his tenure alone. I’m not expecting to be Harvard, OM yes. All we heard for years was that we needed a Phi Beta Kappa chapter to help our rankings. We got it, a couple of years ago, and have never been lower ranked.

Everyone need to just calm the **** down. It’s covid year. Obviously Leach needs to bring in new players. Leach has been successful everywhere.

Doubtful if Cohen is well respected as an AD by his cohorts in the conference or even out of the conference
