I still support Leach as our coach

I know his offense has been stymied but watching film has helped me realize that we had open receivers in our losses. Unfortunately, our QB was on the run from 3 DL players. Hopefully, the extra week to review film and analyze what has been going wrong will prevent us from an 85 - 0 result tomorrow.

I am watching the LSU game again and we looked like a completely different team. The Oline was much better against 4 to 5 defenders every play. I think we just lost our precision and maybe some repetition of technique at practice will improve us.

Bana is going roll us. Lay the points.
Got to give Leach 2 more years to get some players in his system.

Same thing in JoMo's offense. Plays were there to be made but the QB just couldn't get it to them. Difference is we could run the ball better in that offense.

Bama hasn't won by 32 points all year. 32 points is a lot to lay. Bet on the home underdog to cover, but not by very much. 17-41.

Not forming an opinion until year 3 is rough, considering we just dropped a coach after 2.

I actually thought we were playing in StarkVegas. Shows how much I’ve checked out on this team. I still think we cover 32 though.

Sooooo....execution problems? With an NFL QB and RB and a bunch of upperclass OL and WR? I mean Croom said the same **** but he was dealing with much less. When he got 'his' players in there, he still sucked.

As do I. Anyone who does not, at this point, doesn't understand the nuances of installing a new system and when you couple that with the fact that he's having clean up Moorhead's mess it's laughable that anyone could be upset with him. I mean Cohen, for all his faults, even stated in his presser when he hired him that a top priority of his in the search was that the new coach be a "disciplinarian". If you paid close attention to our team the past couple years you knew we had some cancerous players that had to be let go. I'm shocked Hill made it as long as he did. The silver lining to all this is that all this couldn't have happened in a better year. This is basically a mulligan year. All that said, I don't expect us to be a powerhouse next year either. I've seen what Leach can do and I'm fine giving him a full three years to make it right. Hell because of COVID he wasn't even allowed on campus until what? July? I didn't give Moorhead that same grace as he had the table set the moment he came in.

Fake news bro. The 2018 table was set for Moorhead, yes. But he actually recruited quite well to get us out of that, and now Leach has, well, squandered that. Maybe a few years from now Leach is going 9-3 regularly and we can look back and say Moorhead's classes were bad, but right now, on paper, it appears that Leach is underperforming. No way he should be THIS bad.

It's just a big damn mess and it starts with Cohen.

Its ridiculous to think this group would be playing well in his first year esp with this no spring ball ********. I expect slight improvement offensively by years end and next year to look decent. Maybe year 3 or 4 I would expect to challenge Bama. No one in their right mind thought we would be good this year. Of course the LSU game got me twisted but we fell back to reality. Maybe even slightly lower than my expectations. Gonna take a year or two minimum

I know this has been beaten to death, but the part about the QB being on the run is the entire issue. Our QBs should have all day to pick apart the zone, and when we do decide to hand it off, RBs should have their choice of lanes to gash for a minimum of 6-7 yards. Instead, Costello is either getting sacked or forced to scramble on roughly 25% of his snaps, and something that seems to be getting entirely glossed over throughout all of this is that we are running the ball at an average of 1.8 YDS/CARRY over the last 3 games. 1.8 yards...

Again, I know that talking about the ineptitude of our O line is nothing new, but it is just mind blowing as to how completely incompetent they have been. 5 vs 3 will break down occasionally, but it is happening to us on a consistent basis which is just embarrassing. Since we're talking about a purge, this would be my #1 item on the list that either gets fixed this season or else heads roll. It is beyond inexcusable

Now I am confused. What has Leach squandered?
Surely(I know, I saw the movie) you didn’t think Mike Leach, the co-inventor of the Air Raid offense, was going to come in and run last year’s offense. Or any version thereof?

I don’t understand. It is like you would expect a Riverboat captain who has never flown an airplane to become an Airline Pilot for Delta the day he steps off the boat. Or a bar tender to become a Baptist Preacher...... well, that might be an exaggeration.

You realize that the Moorhead recruiting classes you are hyping up are all freshmen and sophomores currently, right? How has Leach squandered them when most of them are in their first year of significant playing time?

When I see threads with titles similar to this one, I instantly think a coach is on the hot seat...

That was not my intention

I've just seen and heard from my State friends that his system won't work in the SEC. It did when he was at UK so why not here? It has worked everywhere he has coached. I just think we need to give him time to install it.

You have **** for brains if you are trying to compare the 2. Who’s a NFL QB? The WR position is a **** show.

Line is 30.5 right now.

Bama beat Tenn by 31 points on the road, UGA by 17, and A&M by 28

How many points will our offense score, because Bama will put up 40+ on us easy.

At some point you’d think that if Leach has 5 guys to block 3, he’d stop leaving 1 or 2 of them on an island while 1 or 2 have no one to block. These wide splits are killing our offensive line.

Most of them have left, for whatever reason. Only a few were because of these drug tests. Lovett, Mayden, Shrader, J. Jones, B. Jones, Pendley, Stewart.....you're telling me ALL these guys are problems? No way. They are the same type kids we sign every year, and Leach has done a Croomtastic purging and now we have to hear about how it'll be 3-4 years before 'his' kids are in here. That is awful, and never works.

Beyond that, we had a bunch of seniors this year. We should be better than we are.

I am glad, however, that he is signing some JUCOs to backfill all these 'problem' children.

To me that game and what has happened since is one the biggest "head scratchers" in MSU history. I was blown away with the disciplined, mistake free, hard nosed football we played against LSU. I still don't have a clue what has happened to us since. Really weird.

Mistake free? I pretty sure he threw 3 picks (pick 6) and had two fumbles. I may be wrong in the numbers, but he had four turnovers. I’m too lazy to look it up

I'm too lazy also but what I was talking about were the stupid penalties, delay of game and general disorganization etc etc we've seen the last two years. ALSO I don't know that we'll ever have a turnover-free game with the air raid.
