Sunday night games bring the juice. Like MNF back in the old days. Edited to add that I'm just checking in but not a hater.

Titans/Steelers and Seahawks/Cardinals most definitely did not disappoint. To be honest, I was a little annoyed earlier in the day that Titans/Steelers wasn’t a featured prime time game, but that Sunday night football game last night was wild. One of the better OTs I’ve ever seen

Due to quality competition and good games, the NFL is light years better than college football and the gap in fan support will continue to expand as college football is stuck in 1960 with blowouts every weekend.

NFL games engage the audience for all 4 quarters while the best college teams only engage the audience for about 15 minutes or halfway through the 1st quarter.

Niners/Pats was an amazing game. I love to see NE get plastered and Cam getting pulled was the cherry on top.

..I need to be reminded why you don’t like it.

I would guess the biggest reason is that they don't live in/near an NFL market. If I remember correctly, you are in Charlotte. It's probably a lot like Dallas in that if you are not watching NFL you do not get to carry basic conversation with friends, colleagues, or customers. NFL is the focus of all sports talk radio and news broadcasts, even in the off-season.

Played golf with a guy a few weeks ago and he was talking about "that skinny guy" when the rest of us were talking all things NFL. It took 5 holes to figure out he was talking about Brady. Had no idea what the team or position was... The guy is in national sales in a male dominated industry and he admits his lack of NFL knowledge costs him relationships and potentially business when he's in Wisconsin and can't figure out Brett Favre is not the QB for the Packers anymore.

With that in mind, you could probably go years without talking in NFL in parts of Mississippi unless you bumped into a state fan wanting to talk about Dak or an Ole Miss fan in past years talking about Eli Manning.

I’m a diehard college fan at heart, but if I’m being completely honest, I’ve enjoyed the NFL games substantially more this year. I think having a fantasy team plays a big part, but something about the college season just doesn’t seem real this year. Late start, weird schedule, ongoing postponement of games, and basically every conference doing something a little different.... not to mention the complete void of a genuine gameday crowd, and it just comes off as a cheap imitation

I’m glad that games are being played, but the NFL is a lot closer to the norm for me than college right now.

What 2020 is exposing is that people love the pageantry, tailgating, & family feel for college football, but when all that is stripped away, the games suck.

There are only 3-5 teams that can compete for a championship and everyone else plays a full schedule of exhibition games. The lack of pageantry and atmosphere has really exposed the problem with college football.

Browns/Bengals Lions/Falcons...also provided some damn good football especially at the end...hell Bills/Jets was competitive too

I invested my TV time in watching Ally M and then final round of Zozo. That much golf resulted in a wife penalty. Cost me 2 hours of female tv.

I missed the fox super 6 by points thursday. I got all the prop bets and the winner right, but had the eagles 12-14. 50 grand....

I agree wholeheartedly with this. We will probably disagree on the best path to get all these things back, but at least we have the real problem pegged.

I have enjoyed college better than pro mainly because I like it better, and some fans are better than no fans. But I admit it's still lacking. But again, we agree that the main issue is passionate fans. There's more of that in college football than pro football. I would argue that there's more 'TV eyes' and sidewalk fans in the NFL, than college though. So, in my opinion, college should go with that. Stop doing everything for the TV dollar, and add more intrigue, more passion. The money will follow that in the end (like it already has).

Once COVID is over, and crowds can return, emphasis needs to be put on rekindling rivalries over conference affiliation, regional rivalries over gimme games, scholarship limits, caps on coaching salaries, etc. NIL needs to be heavily regulated. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about immediate eligibility after transfer, but that's another big ticket item. And contrary to popular belief, we need to keep the bowl system - just need to change how they choose teams. No idea how to do that, lots of tentacles. First step would be getting rid of the 6 win threshold, because not all schedules are created equally.

Games need to matter for more than just the playoff race. Winning against your rival should matter. Making to a bowl should matter. Even beating an instate school like USM should matter.

Our population has just been desensitized. All we want to do is sit on the couch and watch on TV. Need to reignite the fandom.

I agree. I think the points that are being scored across college football is hurting the quality of the games too. It's possible this year's National Champion is going to be the 3rd consecutive NC to average over 45 ppg. That number is incredibly high, especially considering everyone is basically only playing other P5 schools this year. These types of offenses use to be a novelty for the Big12 and maybe some smaller schools. Bama has now scored 40 points or more in 14 of their last 18 games. That's with them losing Tua over that stretch.

I wish CFB would change the lineman down field rule. I think that would help the defense identify their run / pass reads at least.

Guess Brady isn't just a system Qb. Bucs look damn good and Pats look horrendous.

I don't hate, just don't follow. I blame Jerry Jones taking over my team many years ago, combined with player complaints about how hard they have it. Also raised a family in the interim and had practically zero down time for years. I grew unattached.

I find it an incredibly boring sport to watch on television. It's a 3 hour broadcast with about 30 minutes of between the whistles live gameplay. Don't see the point in watching 2 and a half hours of downtime.

So you have a problem with the game of football in general.

We haven't had 3-hour football games in a long, long time. College football games are the longest major American sport at 3:24 average time. And the games aren't getting any shorter. It's also sucking the life out of going to a game in person.

Same, I don't hate it, but I don't watch it anymore. It was a combination of free agency, high number of tv commercials, the kneeling/protest movement, and now no fans in the stands just makes it unwatchable for me anymore. I watched the Saints opening drive of the year for about 3 plays and heard the echos of the Dome and said nope, that's it for me.
