Kansas is a disaster, you got me on that one.

TCU has done well in the Big 12. They have owned Texas and have three different Top 10 finishes since joining that league less than a decade ago.

You can ask that question for a lot of schools.

Really there is only 20 schools in the P5s that have a chance to win their conference on any given year.
90% of college games are just an exhibition game.

It’s really even less now, at any given time. There are probably 20-25 programs that have the ability to build, given they make a good coaching hire.

How do you fix it? Scholarship limits maybe, although that’s probably minimal. I lean towards letting guys go pro earlier (I realize that’s an NFL thing). But I think it helps because it gets all these elite 5 stars out of college a year early. Would hurt the super recruiters.

How do we change that?
Run an unusual offense that other defenses aren't used to seeing, and increase the odds by hiring a coach with a long track record of success at running that offense at less prestigious P5 schools.

If you want a chance to be in the play off you better be in a P5 even if it means you never win that p5. What other conference should they be in? Pac 12 is probably the easiest today but that could change.

Why does Kansas have a football team?

Why did TCU think it wise to join the Big 12?

Kansas has a football team because even though they suck, they won't cut off their nose to spite their face. KU is bad, but not stupid.

Answering your **** question with a question- why do you think it wasn't wise for TCU to join the big12?
Its increased their odds of getting in the playoffs. Out of the big12, there would be 0 chance, but now its at least some sort of chance. And they are doing well in revenue.
Read from 2013- https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fo...e-money-and-applicants-to-the-university/amp/
Read this from 2019 as they are 4th in revenue in the conference-

Kansas has a football team for the same reason Kentucky, Duke, and UNC have one. TCU wanted to join a Power Five Conference. The SEC would never take them. Nobody else would either. The Big 12 did. It was either that or the AAC or the Mountain West otherwise. No brainer that.
