I guess they were too expensive...

Unless tickets went on sale this morning

I change my previous stance that the majority of allowed fans should be students. What a waste.

Did a lot of students think it would be too difficult to get a limited ticket?

$20 per game is kind of expensive, considering it seems like I paid $10-$15 for an entire season back ~20 years ago. I just assumed they were basically still free for students.

I kind of agree actually. $23 to go sit in the endzone 6 feet apart doesn’t seem like a great deal for a college student.

Our students really suck.

I never hardly ever missed a game and we sucked until my last year in 91.

I got in the portal and received mine about 5 minutes after ticket sales began for students, very quick and easy process. Also from what I understand is that they will allow students to sit in blocks of 2-10.

I really hope they just opened up 200 tickets, if not this is horrible. I guess $23 for a quarter and a half of football is too pricey.

This makes the most sense. Going to a football game is a lot safer than sitting in a classroom.

I don't blame them. They got suckered into coming back to town and signing housing agreements before most classes went virtual. They've been blamed at every turn for the spread of Covid. They've been told it's much safer to just stay home and they're being asked to spend as much on one game as we all spent on an entire season.

I'm not surprised they aren't beating down the door for tickets.

The problem is large student groups can’t sit together and can’t organize seats near each other. They are choosing to watch together off-campus. Only a pair of students can sit together per the student ticket rules.

Price of the tickets has nothing to do with it, it's the 200,000+ covid deaths in America holding some back.

Yeah. Cause they've all been social distancing so well in every other part of their life the last 6 months.

It has more to do with six feet than anything. But watching these other games, they have not been doing that in those stadiums. I guess it is impossible to managed

From what I have seen around town 99.999% of college students couldn't give a flying 17 at a rolling doughnut about covid.

State football isn't that interesting. you already know the big games are loses and the rest are exhibitions.
no cell service in stadium
terrible gate entrance crowds.
terrible concessions and service at concessions

What? No. College kids couldn't care less. Heck most are dodging tests. They just don't want to go to a game and social distance.

Looks like 200 more seats available in the first half... for whoever wants to spread out in the stadium.

Tell that to their parents paying their tuition telling them not to go to the games

Your two posts prove how clueless you are. You really think they are listening to parents who do want them to go to a game? No. Second, most of the people I know that have college aged kids, WANT them to go to the game and live a normal college life.

Just cause some of y'all don't have over protective parents doesn't mean every college kid doesn't.

The students were given the impression that there wasn’t going to be much of a chance on getting a ticket a few weeks ago.

Are their parents telling them not to go out to eat, or go to a bar, or go to a party, etc? Cause they're doing all those things.

The SEC has also told them it's too dangerous for even the band, cheerleaders and pom squads to attend.

I have no idea but I bought them, wasn't my money anyway. I am sure most students parents would pay for them.

I dunno, I mean... when I was in college, my tuition and most of my books were covered with scholarships and/or loans, but my rent, utilities, meal money, drinkin' money, and spendin' money came from what I earned at my job.

That was of course 15-20 years ago, but I can't imagine $23 being just throwaway money for a college student today. I'm also going to assume (to be honest, I haven't done the research) that a result of the Covid lockdown is a strain on part time job opportunities (generally retail and food service) for college students, which would reduce their disposable income further.

I can not understand why anyone would want to attend a game in that lame environment. You could not PAY me to go to a game this year with the restrictions in place.

If they are really making them separate out I'm surprised any students are going. My daughter isn't going because she goes, as a student, strictly for the social experience. She could not care less about football itself. There are a lot of students who go for the socializing so if you take all of that away a pretty good percentage aren't going to go. They can watch on TV like we can I guess.

Nah, the students barely have to pay a 17ing thing whether the product is good or not. Try to keep up. Prices for student tickets were practically identical between Croom’s **** teams and our 2014 squad that won 10 games.
