Wow, that’s actually big time. Like cooterpoot said though, gonna have to hang on to our balls with him.

It does seem like he wants State the most.

He is the #6 rated cornerback in the country according to 247 sports, but I suppose they might move him to safety. If he is actually the sixth best corner in the country I think that would be kinda silly but we will see

Oh you are right. Maybe we should put him at QB since he often plays that position too. Or WR.....wonder where he ranks nationally there ? Top notch cornerbacks are a hot commodity and pretty valuable. But obviously he will play where Leach decides he best fits. But if he has the speed and cover skills to be a shutdown corner I doubt they will waste that talent. But I'm sure SPS knows best

I’m sure the experts at recruiting sites know the best also.

Most of the time the projected position is based on what coaches tell recruits.

A lot of speculation is that he is being projected as a safety.

Who knows, but him being the #6 CB in the country means abt as much as Damien Robinson being a highly touted 4 star tackle.

He's ranked as an athlete on 247 not as a corner. They'll give him a look at both but most expect he ends up at safety.

This thread just proves this a damn political board now. Some of you 17rs don't have a damn clue about out recruiting or care about football. You just try to argue.

He projects as a safety bc of his size. He’s already 200lbs and will put on more weight once he gets in a college weight room. Not many 215lb corners out there

Very similar to Quinton Culberson when he came to MSU.
Freshman year started at corner for abt 5 to 6 games and played well.
Moved to safety.
Moved to linebacker and ended up being pretty good there. Too small for that position in the nfl but made a good career on special teams.

Seen a lot of people here say that they doubt this commitment sticks. I don’t know the kid and am not close to his recruitment, but do know someone who coaches at GC.

IMO, he sticks with not a ton of fanfare. Outside of the obvious tie with his cousin on our team, there are A LOT of GC high school kids that end up at State- and evidently a lot of his friends are here. He comes up regularly to visit.

Contrary to some OM confidence, they are not our biggest competition- that would be A&M and the Mckinley Jackson connection. The dead period helps us with this for sure though. Daniels is a December grad and early enrollee, so with that timeline, official visits are pretty much out of the question. He will be in Starkville this fall way more than College Station, if he even ever takes a trip there at all.

We will need to stay on him, but frankly, based on what I hear, State just makes the most sense. Of course this is recruiting, and in recruiting things happen all the time that don’t make sense (Justin Walley).

That's huge

If you're a DB and want an attempt to play SEC football early, we should be an attractive destination.

Good work from our staff. Got to close though.

Well he was meeting his attorney at the Waffle House in Hattiesburg so he figured he drive a little further and do some recruiting while he was close.
