Hold on government entities and employees get to use the attorney generals office to fight on their behalf?

Seems like I’ve recently heard abt that being a huge no no that never happens.

Disagree. This has nothing to do with money, so why even mention it? He's already blown that money on lawsuits. He obviously is concerned and it takes up a portion of his time/focus if he's been doing this for 11 years.
He needs to go recruit some damn defense instead of chasing stupid ghosts.

If you have ever hired an attorney, you know that they go do stuff, occasionally tell you to sign stuff or show up somewhere and provide updates on progress/changes. If he were representing himself, I'd buy the distraction theory. At it is, I suspect it is much closer to my lawn care analogy. You pay people. Things get done. That's about it.

Check this law review article: https://law.marquette.edu/assets/sports-law/pdf/Leacharticle-9-04-12.pdf

Sounds like that was pretty much the winning argument.
Many states have abolished sovereign immunity as it applies to contract claims byholding that a state impliedly waives its immunity if it enters into a contract.103 In fact, fact, every state, except Texas, can be sued for financial damages resulting from abreach of contract.104

Thirty-nine states abrogated sovereign immunity as it applies toto contract claims, making the ability to sue the state absolute.105 Had Leach beencoaching at a University in one of these states, he would likely have been successful inin his lawsuit and awarded the damages he claimed he was owed.

In ten states complainants must "navigate a variety of bureaucratic hurdles" after whichwhich complainants may seek monetary damages.106 Texas stands alone in itscomplete immunity from suit and liability.107

The NCAA was the start of it all. Only took him 20 years, most of which was as an unemployed coach. I'd have the same opinion had he survived and continued the NCAA chase. And I get it, State fans have this complex that the world is out to get them and every fight is a good one, but I want my coach focused on football. No distractions. We've already seen the distractions with both Sherrill and Mullen. I want no part of it.

Not sure what part of he started going after the NCAA after he had tanked the program you didn’t understand. The lawsuit started in 2004 (after he Was fired). He didn’t go after them until the damage from the investigation had finished. They ruined him and then he went to court with them, not the other way around. His dislike for the NCAA had zero to do with his failures here. Their dislike for him sure did though.

Leach has been fighting this for years and turned the worst P5 program in the country into a perennial winner at WSU. It doesn’t take very much effort to hire some people and tell them what you want done. It’s not like he’s having to Uber drive to help pay for attorney fees. He isn’t playing detective while he should be prepping for LSU.

Did I miss something? Does $2.5 million somehow equal $250,000 (which is what the article said he’d spent so far since Jan 2018)? Heck, that’s a solid investment if he can win. 10x his court costs so far. And that’s not even counting the idea that TT might be forced to cover court costs.

So if Texas decides that it no longer wants to meet the terms of a legal contract, they can just breach the contract, claim sovereign immunity, and the other party is just screwed......is that accurate? What is the logic behind that? And how is it legal? And why the 17 would anyone enter into a contract with them?

That’s what this article (and apparently the Leach case) says. It’s legal because it pure sovereign immunity. Agreed, i can’t imagine who would contract with a state entity knowing that you could be left high and dry. Perhaps major contracts are legislatively approved and include waiver of immunity? I have no idea, and maybe the law has changed since this case.

So you think he's not involved in a decade long crusade vs TT? I disagree. Just because he isn't doing the leg work, doesn't mean he's not managing the overall process. His *** needs to focus on making us a good football team. I've seen the recruiting on defense and it's the worst we've seen in a long time. Maybe he's not involved with it either and only his assistants are responsible for recruiting.

But he got tangled up in the chasing after Zena Reb etc. before then.

That was the last two years only. It's been going for 11 years. Now, I'm not great in math, but I'm guessing it's over a million so far based on that cost over two years.

I’m gonna go ahead and say he hasn’t spent $2.5 million in attorney fees.

I bet he hasn’t spent $750k in attorney fees.

I need to get Coach Leach In touch with my digital guy...he can find dirt on anyone....I don't ask how he gets the dirt he does but all I can say he has not let me down... He has proven to me EVERYONE has secrets and in today's digital age, you have no privacy and there are plenty of legal ways to obtain any information about anyone. I'd put my guy onto all of the TT guys and all of their lawyers and any judges involved in the case.

If you actually keep up with defensive recruiting how do you not know that this is one of the worst defensive in state recruiting classes in the history of our state? He’s leading for the best 2 defensive guys in the state right now in Calloway (I know he is currently committed to Bama but none of our people think that sticks) and Daniels and will also probably land the kid from Louisville at DE. We have landed about 2 out of state 4 star defensive players in the past decade. We aren’t struggling recruiting defensive players because of his crusade against Texas tech. This is ridiculous.

I think is the same as it was with Kang. It's not the money it's the man's name.

Please revisit what kind of a football team he made us in 5 years and what kind of defenses we have had after those 5 years.

He has yet to coach his first game. Hide and watch.

JWS is a shining example for all to follow. If you have the funds keep the pressure on them.

How much money did Jackie get, again?

The shining examples are Rivk Neuheisel, Jerry Tarkanian, and Dean Tom Jones at Alabama.

Congrats on actually keeping up with defensive recruiting. That should look great on your resume.

And who are “our people”?

Well, the guy acted like he knew about our defensive recruiting and was making outlandish accusations about why we were struggling on that side of the ball in recruiting, when he obviously either has an axe to grind or actually was not keeping up at all, smartass. "Our people" are the moderators on Genespage (the site with the guy you're making fun of in another thread) who tried to tell the guy railing on Mike Leach for not recruiting defense well that we were in the game or leading for all of the people I mentioned above. Do you have any more questions or do you want to continue to be a condescending ******* about job resumes when you currently have over double the posts on this sports website than I do?
