They think they're too good to come out and sing our national anthem. Godless Cuban Commies!

Not sure why people don’t believe that.

As a whole Hispanic people are conservative also when it comes to values.

MSU is in the locker room when the anthem is done. Keeping these overpaid babies in the NFL there during the anthem would solve a lot of problems.

Wait, you guys realize this is STILL a protest against racial injustice and police brutality, right? Im really not sure how this is somehow cutting against the grain. Its basically what I thought the NFL teams should have been doing all along.

But they’re not disrespecting the flag and anthem which is what has caused all of the complaints. I respect that they’re actually pushing for action instead symbolic look-at-me gestures aimed at pissing people off. To me, kneeling during the anthem knowing that you’re pissing people off is no different than those that proudly wave the Confederate battle flag yelling “heritage” while knowing it offends people.

But what action are they pushing for? All of these “demands” but no actual substance.

If they want “change”, it can only start with self reflection.

That’s pretty typical of all change. It’s starts with the person in the mirror.

The large population of former Cubans in Miami is much more conservative than a lot would believe.

true but ain’t many Cubans on the team. This is about a team that gets it. It’s all coach Flores. He’s an incredible leader. Last year when Kenny Stills, an avg player, came out in the media critical of JayZ for some woke cause during camp, Coach Flo played 10 straight Jay Z songs to start practice and then got rid of him a few weeks later. He’s not with the ********.

From what I understand, they don’t want potentially die when resisting arrest. That’s all I’ve understood. Like you stated, that starts with the man in the mirror. Stop resisting seems to work every time. Compliance surely extends one’s life no matter skin color.

That’s a good way to explain it.

If you’re truly after “hearts and minds” and true change, it’s hard to do that if you’re pissing people off. Folks really concerned about southern heritage need to quit waiving around a symbol that represents hate to so many. They’re not going to listen.

With the anthem kneeling, the vast majority of the country has great respect for the country, the anthem, and what the flag stands for. Disrespecting the flag Is not necessary and takes away from your message. If you’re truly about constructive change, and not just political posturing, quit with the abrasiveness that drives people away.

If I get on the PA system at Davis Wade and try to bring attention to some children’s charity at half time, but I’m wearing skinny jeans, Toms, and an ascot while hiking my leg on the MSTATE at midfield and yelling Hotty Toddy, I’m probably not going to generate much in the way of sympathy/donations.

Can’t blame the audience for not respecting your message when you were disrespectful while delivering it.

The whole “that’s the way military/veterans recommended he protest” argument is irrelevant. Even if that were true, to the average person, it comes across as disrespectful. (I’ve also had vets tell me it’s disrespectful).

When people wake up and realize that this "movement" has a lot less to do with race than it does culture maybe it will be dealt with differently.
