Well again, haven't had reason to consider the Chinese people, just the Chinese government. Have no clue what their thoughts are on Hong Kong. Many of them probably remember before the British relinquished control and I believe Hong Kong operated relatively independently, so it's not obvious to me that they'd be all that invested in completely removing Hong Kong's independence. For all I know, CHinese people are just happy with their increased economic independence and aren't really worried about China's ambitions on the world stage as long as they continue to enjoy increased prosperity. Why don't you point out where you are getting your information on it so I can read up on it.

Here is a start, but china has a 6,000 year history. Hard to sum up for someone as self professed ignorant as you claim to be.

I’d like to read y’alls thoughts on to why southern cities have escaped 99% of this mob? What data can be interpreted through the docile nature of Dallas, Jackson, Nashville, Memphis, Jacksonville, Birmingham and New Orleans....amongst most others southern multi cultured areas?

Is it local leadership? State leadership? Why hasn’t the hate mob targeted Baton Rouge?
I'm struggling to put this thought into words, but perhaps part of it is that because of what went on in our cities in the 60s, we're more determined not to go back to that?

Um, you said

So yeah I think you said you though he was going for a weapon.
Holy shite. Read what you quoted and think about whether that says he was going for a weapon. I'll give you a hint, you have to read the whole sentence. You can't read just the last six words.

I think the incident from last night in the same town with the same police, but a white guy actually shooting people, vs a black guy walking to his car with his kids in the backseat. One actually has a weapon and is actively using it to shoot people, the other "looked like he night be going for a weapon" One gets shot and the other is protected seems relevant.

Also, reports are the guy being chased was chased because he shot someone. Which to use your logic is a reasonable response of the mob to detain the assailant. Or does that only work that way for Bugaloo white nationalists? https://www.npr.org/sections/live-u...wis-as-protests-continue-over-police-shooting

Just amazes me that so many of you are so pro life that women cannot have IUD's but think it's ok to kill someone for a misdemeanor. The guy broke the law and should be punished, but the law defines the punishment as well. Shooting a man for a misdemeanor is cruel and unusual punishment.

Just like if he'd been playing his radio too loud

So you realize how time and space works, right? Just because there are allegations now that he shot somebody earlier in another place where the cops weren't at, that doesn't mean the cops knew that at the time they saw the guy, so you can't argue the cops were somehow racist for not arresting a guy that they didn't know had shot anybody. They are in the middle of a riot and have access to what they see and what information is reported to them. They can't really arrest every single person at the riot. They can't arrest anybody they see with a weapon because people have a right to self defense, and taking away that right during a freaking riot would be illegal and morally unacceptable. If they see somebody walking through with their hands away from their weapon and clearly making an effort to show that they are non-threatening, the police don't have a good reason to arrest him at that time. Even if rioters are claiming he shot somebody, there are in a freaking riot. Lots of property owners and residents are going to end up in situations where they are legally entitled to shoot somebody. If he's not being threatening to anybody at the time, there are going to have higher priorities to respond to.

he was running towards police hands up to get away from the mob. watch the video. he surrendered to police, but they let him walk because of the chaos and confusion that had taken place. he did shoot a guy in the head which is why people were running after him. problem is, the guy threw a molotov cocktail at him and was chasing him down attacking him with a group of other people. thats self defense brotha'. while completely tragic, it was justifiable. the guy was fleeing for his life from a mob of people.

No no... I'm defending protecting one's self and property in the midst of a riot where the Governor and Mayor refused federal help and allowed a man to be knocked by a fire extinguisher and over 30 business burned and looted.

On the car lot, prior to this, a car was put into flames again and people attacked.

I'm defending the right of a guy to defend himself from harm.... YEP!

So the "mob" chasing a guy (maybe a part of vigilante Militia per the Sheriff), that had just shot someone in the head, was completely in the right, and should have killed the gunman for attacking them in self defense.

Great we are on the same page.

Move on from this one, you’re being deliberately dense.

No. I legitimately want to know if there was a weapon in his car. Or if it was a kids toy, or a wallet, or keys.

Because I cannot find anything saying they found a weapon in his vehicle that would warrant him being shot in the back 7 times.

Meanwhile, there are people being shot by vigilantes, whom are not being even arrested by police.

It's that whole time and space thing again. We don't judge police officers on information that wasn't available to them. THe way time and space works (as far as we know), is that they can't search the car after the fact and determine there's not a weapon there, and then go back to the time he was reaching into his car and decide not to shoot him. At the time, they just knew somebody that had resisted arrest was working his way to his car to reach for something. Maybe they knew his rapsheet, too, not sure. if they wait and it's a gun, then they've not only put their life at risk, but also the people nearby who might be hurt if he shoots.

I believe your link pretty much states that the guy was pretty much being chased onto a car lot and the people chasing him was throwing things and one had a gun.. ... and all of that was prior to one being **** in the head.

I have seen you defend antifa and more for years. I read your words defending a professor who cracked the skull of a guy with a chain and locks. I watched you defend Ellison promoting this.

What did you expect to happen?

TIL there are no fights in schools outside the South. And there there are no guns outside the south.

TIL that SheltonCHoked learned about the TIL acronym and was really excited to use it, even if it requires him pretending his reading comprehension is terrible and he doesn't understand words or phrases like "more likely" or "maybe" or "not only".

Your narrative of how the North operates is hilarious. Like really, what do you imagine is happening here?
There are areas of dense population and areas of smaller rural population. There are nice communities and unsafe communities. Its the same as in the South or the West or the East. Divide the country up into arbitrary geographic segments and you will find pockets that are ideal and not ideal within those large segments.

Your post is dripping with Rockwellian idealism. We talk with our neighbors many times a week. I helped 3 neighbors cut and move tree limbs that fell during the shitstom a couple weeks ago. Our kids play with neighborhood kids.
Yada Yada Yada.

Your generalization that everyone has a face in the South and therefore hate is lower is just baseless and funny. There is real deep and strong hate in areas of the South nust like there are reas in the North with deep and strong hate.

I do agree that social media is da debil in all this.

Lots of big words in there but no substance. Again, you find a way to take a hill and defend it. I’m asking why the mobs haven’t hit the streets in the southern populated areas. I then challenge other readers to discuss why this may be. It was not agenda driven. Your everyday conversation and overall unpopularity on this board speaks volumes to how your opinions should be taken.

The way you talk to people on here makes you out as a gigantic dbag. Probably some alter ego troll, no way a man could posses as big of a **** as you without plastic surgery.

You could have given your stance without bashing another's. Your mind is a lot more squared up than what you would lead on here....which is some Golden Teacher ********. What gives?

It’s a tough question to answer. It requires a few layers of thought and reasoning, socio economics and geographic and population density factors which you must consider ...but on the surface, the southern states have kept the violence and riots off the streets. Who can we thank for that?

Lebron really is an idiot. He only has a few hundred million dollars, so he can't afford to piss off China and is actually willing to run PR interference for the Chinese communist party. I get that. MOney is more important to him than some minority in China or formerly free people in Hong Kong. Don't agree with it and I'd like to think if I were in his position, I could make do with the few hundred million (or a billion?) I had already made, but whatever.

But this is just sheer stupidity (unless China is paying him to creation division also, in which case, mortgages have to be paid I guess). This was more or less suicide by cop. If he had just jumped into his car and tried to drive off, maybe he wouldn't have gotten shot. But reaching into the car wasn't much different than pointing an unloaded gun at a cop. And it wasn't like it was a split second decision.

I’ve asked this multiple times and have yet to get an answer. What the hell was lebron suppose to do? He doesn’t live in China and for the most part have zero ties.

People like Clay Travis have been bashing since day zero like they are so caring yet what have they done. I’m more of a Jordan guy but Lebron has done more for his city and Ohio than some folks has done for their own household but yet that seems to be ignored

as for the rest, I have no idea what you are ranting about.

I just thing that the punishment should fit the crime. And getting shot does not fit "disobeying an order".

Just like being killed with knee on the neck is not the just punishment for a bad check

And getting shot in your home is not punishment for sitting in your chair.

It seems you think that's acceptable.

But a guy that is open carrying, when the police know there are vigilantes attacking people in the streets, gets the benefit of the doubt.

Wonder why....

And why are you defending it?

Why am I defending the existence of space-time and the limitations it puts on us. Honestly, if you looked deep into my soul, you'd probably find that I am just frustrated because I can't grok string theory or quantum mechanics and am skeptical of spooky action at a distance. I don't even have the intellectual capacity to really even understand special relativity, much less general relativity, and it's a great shame and makes me really invested in the idea that the thermodynamic arrow of time is not the result of some quirk in how we form memories and experience time but that it is an objective part of reality and a real constraint on our actions and abilities as humans, no matter what scientific advances are made.

Or maybe I just have different expectations of how police should or at least realistically can act during an ongoing riot and can tell the difference between a riot where a lot of violence and property destruction is going on in the vicinity of the police versus a typical day in America where police are involved in an arrest. One or the other.

Well id say he is definitely intolerantly devoted to his own opinions regarding the police.

He doesn’t care abt the facts. He just creates his own opinion based on the least amount of info possible.

Aka a bigot.

Based on your partial but not totally accurate definition and how you are applying it, this board is littered with bigots. Bigots everywhere. The collective right is filled with bigots.

So if bigotry is so widespread and both sides are filled with bigots(all based on tour interpretation of the term), then the word loses meaning and just isnt anything to give a **** about.

How about nothing? When people point out that people in Hong Kong are losing their freedom and autonomy, he could just keep his mouth shut rather than licking China's boots? That seems like a really low bar and not a lot to ask. I don't think many people would have a problem with him just staying out of foreign affairs. If asked about it directly, he could just say he doesn't have any influence over the Chinese government's policy and therefore doesn't keep up with their issues and doesn't have anything to add to the debate. Hell, even take the international version of the Jordan approach and just say your staying out of it because the Chinese Communist Party buys shoes too (or at least can make like hard for Nike).

Perhaps that's it. But, I'd really like to hear from someone who has lived both north of the Mason Dixon line and in the South. Maybe that's you Bruce, I don't know. I've always felt while the South is painted as a Racial Dystopia it is much more integrated than the North. As in we all grew up together, having different experiences of course, but still in the same schools, churches, neighborhoods, localities (malls, the cruising strip, etc.) jobs, et al, relatively speaking.

I fully admit I could be way, way off here.

Generally speaking, the South is much more integrated than the North. The difference is, up until the 1960s or so, segregation was the law (and also in some semi-southern places, like Washington, DC and St. Louis). NFL teams didn't have blacks in the 40s and 50s. It's more integrated now because, as you say, we all grew up together, and there are a lot of minorities in the south relative to most northern places. Neighborhoods in both the North and South are still segregated by choice and economics for the most part; but integration is no longer illegal in the South.

Not true. You 100%, along with 3 others, defended Antifa in 2016. I gave you 2 examples of it. When peaceful people were simply trying to attend a rally, you applauded their efforts in the name of fighting off the fascists. That included the professor who used a chain with locks on the end to take out a guy sitting down. That included the DNC co chair holding up the handbook of antifa. Not a damn thing mattered to you then with people telling you over and over that at some point people would stand up.

As for the rest, yes you do know what I am talkibg about. I was clear that even according to you link, before the person was shot in the head the person was chased by others into that lot running for his on safety.

Why was he fearful? Maybe because all over America in larger cities peolle are being ripped out of cars and almost killed. Or people are rushing into restaurants forcing people to raise their fist or face bodily harm. Maybe they are taking matters into their own hands because the police are not allowed to do their jobs.

This is going to get worse because people like James are simply pushing it. Maxine Waters telling people to go into restaurants and do that.... etc...

Just like with this story. You don't want facts. You want the fight. You take words and twist it to something not stated at all.... he never stated that he was going for a gun. Ever. You twisted that.

As far as the shooter, he will be arrested. He will be tried.

As far as the police, they will be investigated. All of the videos will be looked at. They will then decide on action or non action.

As for Floyd, nobody here agrees with what happened.

Yeah, it's really hard to tell, and there was so much background noise in the video I saw there's not way of telling who said what. The guy taking 7 shots seemed to not be justified though - maybe they had a reason but if they did, it wasn't obvious. Regardless, there's no excuse for burning the city down and looting stores though.

At the ending of the video, after 4 shots were heard, I saw something scary - there was a little 2 or 3 year old child running around in the yard very near to the action. He shouldn't have been anywhere near what was going on.

I have no idea what you are talking about, I like the USA in WWII am against Fascism. That's it. Whatever other fiction you made up about what I think/thought about it is your own creation. Not mine.

A man shot someone in the head. Other people saw that, felt at risk for their safety and defended themselves form the shooter. Just like you are condoning. The other s were fearful not due to some mysterious "others" "All over the country" but due to seeing someone shot in the head.

I have no idea what Maxine Waters has to do with this, I think she is in DC or California and not in Wisconsin. Same with James, I don't think he was there either...

I'm just wondering why so many people on this message board think the guy with kids "deserved to die for not obeying police" and how shooting someone is "justice" for a crime that is equivalent to a hazing a pledge.

And no outrage at another guy randomly shooting people in the street, which is a Capital Crime.

Also, Who the hell are you? You "joined" in 2018 but you talked to me in 2016?
