Mississippi Repeat? Now i have something to root for!
What is better about their programs? I understand our facilities were not nice 10 years ago, but the new practice facility we have at Mossy Oak is amazing. Is the problem that it’s 30 minutes from campus? Why can’t we recruit?I hope so. We need to do a better job of keeping these kids in state for college golf. Think if we Furr and Ogletree at state

Some kids don’t want to come to State. Plain and simple. Furr, Ogletree, and Thornberry all grew up Ole Miss fans. Plus schools like Alabama and Georgia have tradition in golf that neither State or Ole Miss can match. Did you see at the PGA Championship where eight former UGA golfers made the cut? Eight! Think about that for a minute. State has experienced some success lately in golf with Chad Ramey coming close to winning again this weekend on the KornFerry Tour. Pichaikool and Follett Smith earning their Asian Tour cards in their first attempt is few months ago. The new facilities are starting to pay dividends but frankly the schools I mentioned had facilities like we have now back 25 years ago.
They contend for national championships because of their players. They get the players because of their contention in national championships. Is this a wheel we can never get into? I’m assuming coaching isn’t much of a factor other than recruiting. Maybe that’s not true, but I’m guessing these guys already have a personal coach and don’t really make many major changes to their game while in college. Not sure, maybe it's because those schools contend for national championships. Could that be it?!?!?
