Why are you blaming espn for this? Did I miss something like espn being the one to cancel the season?

You didn't hear? It's a global conspiracy to forfeit trillions...

...just to troll the orange guy. People are trading livelihoods just to make sure he's not re-elected.

Makes loads of sense...

Espn wanting college football to be cancelled, and working on that behalf in any capacity, would have to be one of the most bone headed business decision in history.
They cannot be in great financial shape right now.

Do you think Georgia should have followed Cuomo's lead & sent COVID patients back to the nursing homes?

This crap is not ESPN's fault but both sides politically have mismanaged this disaster.

I’m not familiar with all the Network football contracts, but if this season is cancelled, would networks be able to renegotiate their deals?

It’s easier to blame ESPN than to consider Georgia reopened too early.

Yet it’s highly likely Georgia has this thing smoked within a couple of weeks. In the same way case count is dropping across the southeast regardless of actual policy in place

And 66% of the top 9 states for cases per 1m are led by republican governors.

Numbers are fun, aren't they?

Neither your stat nor mine really means much.

So you agree that outside of the Mardi Gras/New Orleans disaster that most of the republican-led states have handled the matter much better than the general nursing home genocide that happened in the democratic northeast? And that those were among the worst handled situations in the world? Glad we are in agreement

I am embarrassed that this loser actually attended State let alone he might have actually got a degree from it. Please disavow your allegiance. Anything you have to offer is worthless and useless. I hope you don’t have children.

So your point is that republican governors are handling it much better and people aren’t dying at nearly as high of a rate in those states?

But I thought we weren't supposed to look at current deaths/million because they make Sweden look bad, and instead we should make up what we think deaths/million will be in the future and judge based on that.

Also, Massachusetts has a Republican governor -- if Louisiana is a Democratic state due to its governor, Massachusetts is a Republican one.

Whatnow? Interesting leap you took.
ETA- the 3rd up in the middle is especially applicable for this site. Funny since I didn't notice this in the movie.

No, my point is that neither stat tells us how well or poorly a state is doing in response to the outbreak.

If one state is at 1000 deaths per million, but would have been at 1500 per million with a different strategy that another administration would have implemented, then the 1000 desths per million is good.
Or if a state is densely populated with a lot of comorbid citizens, then the deaths per million may be high regardless of almost any strategy that is implemented.

I'm not passing judgement on any state's response right now. There are stories behind the numbers and those should be understood before decisions are made as to what worked and what didnt.

Good Lord you people can ruin a thread quickly.
Well this whole year is ruined, so what’s the difference if these threads get ruined? It goes well with the theme of 2020. Sick of this **** the Chinese government gave to us. F them. They need to pay for it.

Also, thanks to the libs for destroying our ******* economy. We should have never shut down the economy in the first place. It just delayed the inevitable.

The Spanish flu killed 50 million and this Wuhan Flu may kill 1.5 to 2 at best. They still played football in 1918. We are reaching peak pussification.

I'd say his stat means a lot more than yours does. Gets sick but doesn't die is a hell of a lot better than gets sick and dies.

Says the Trump voter

Didn't vote for Trump in 2016, so take this for what it's worth. I'm voting for him in 2020 not because I like him but because people like you have thrown a four year hissy fit and acted like absolute children. There's no way I'd ever reward the butt-hurt, temper tantrum the left has thrown since the orange man got elected. So keep it up. You and your like are red-pilling this country.

They cannot be in great financial shape right now.

They're not in great financial shape in part because they've been idiotic and wanted to jump head first into politics and social issues rather than being a sports network first and foremost. For a large number of their employees and surprisingly even into their executive ranks, when it comes to the choice between making money and focusing on sports, or setting money on fire and doing some social justicing, they've opted for the latter.

ESPN is driving this bus... but you can bet they need a season to happen. They are all in on the ACC, SEC and Big 12 trying to salvage the season.

They only have so much cornhole tourney footage they can run.

No hear me out. That's exactly what they want to do. That is why TV became overrun with so much reality crap. It's so much cheaper to produce that it makes more profit than any thing you might air that is decent.
