I have seen a few questions/comments on here and a lot of other places. Including one today. I just happened to check my email and see this article from Financial Times (free if you sign up.)

For those that don't want to read... Here's the synopsis.

The recently turned public $13 billion valued company posted $36k in Q2 revenue and suffered an $87mn loss. Yes, you read it right a $36 thousand dollar quarterly revenue. The shocker is all of the revenue came from the Founder/Chairman Trevor Milton sending employees to his house to install solar panels. A public company worth billions....

I have read stories about this guy wanting to be like Elon Musk and I have to say that I am not a Musk fan (to volatile), buy I respect his brilliance and work ethic. The Nikola guy is a two bit huckster that could not even come up with an original name.

A $13bn public company run like my neighbor Ray's HVAC business. Unbelievable.

Except even crummy HVAC companies turned a profit in Q2

I know. Ray literally had his guys out working on solar panels a couple of months ago too.... I have dollar signs in my eyes thinking about how I can help him go public.

Lol, yeah... from what I read about their earning report, there weren’t many forecast misses, but they also weren’t able to reveal any details about OEM interest, partnerships on hydrogen stations, or really any sign of a major player jumping on the Nikola train.

With Tesla, I feel like Musk had a much clearer vision to sell as he was personally working on the vehicles, the batteries, and the charging capability. With Nikola, on the hand, it seems to be a nice line of trucks without any clear idea as to where people outside of California are going to get hydrogen. Then, while they’re allegedly working on all-electric models, it’s a question of how long the capital is going to last and how will it compete with Musk who has more than a decade head start?

Like you said, at this point, it’s about taking a spin on the roulette wheel it seems

Everything I've read about it has the look and feel of a shell game to make a few people really rich. it's a pretty slick pitch they have but they don't have anything tangible behind it now and that's a problem. Their make or break comes in December when they are supposed to have their product showcase, but I'm putting they find a way to push that back.

I'm too scared to touch it right now as I just don't trust Milton.

I think it's being propped up right now by people who think Tesla is too expensive and this could be the "the next Tesla" and wanting to get in while it's cheap

I almost shorted the stock last week but what’s interesting is his shares are falling as Milton resigns.

While basically an admission of guilt I’ll have more faith in the company if they pull in someone who knows that the heck they are doing

You are right in that anyone is better than Milton. But it may not matter. Musk says the tech is bunk. Nikola is nothing more than a marketing company at this point. A marketing company that is a proven fraud in public perception.

It will take a real douchebag to buy the pickup they are "making." It's nothing but an electric Colorado. I think this thing goes to zero before a dollar is ever made.
