Question for weed science folks

[40 acres and a mule]

Is there a selective herbicide that will kill Johnson grass in a Bahiagrass pasture or hay field? I haven't found anything that will kill it except Round-up or Eraser which of course kills the bahia too.

Your only really good option is buy a rope wick bar and put roundup in it

Outrider but get ready for your eyes to pop out when you see the price. $300+ for a small box of granuals. Covers about 20 acres though. I’ve used it Multiple times and it’s for sure selective. Problem is, those damn Johnsongrass seed just lay there dormant for years and pop right back up. I’ve been fighting it for several years. Key is to spray when no seed heads if possible. Fall is the best time as it sends the poison down in the root system. Again, seeds can still be there and screwed again when it gets hot/rains a year later. Fence and cows otherwise it’s a perpetual fight. MSU Extension can probably tell you more.
