While it does not absolve the officers from wrongdoing, their defense got some help. GF gasping for air and saying he can’t breathe while everyone is just standing around....I can see why him saying the same thing on the ground with force applied was met with little response from the police. Non compliant, clearly at or near toxicological saturation...all that said, the officers have a duty to protect those in their custody, and they clearly failed there.

Agreed, no one acted in their own best interest or the best interest of the opposite party.

Agree with everything here. This shows why being a cop has to be one of the hardest jobs, if not the hardest.

He could breath. That's not what killed him. He had a heart attack.

He was a stereotypical product of what Democratic policies have done to the black community. He was dealt a losing hand at birth and like so so many, couldn't overcome it. I'm certainly not making excuses for him and the black community needs to start owning their part of the blame, but until you walk in those shoes.......

Some instances of racial injustice get magnified and some don't. What happened in Minneapolis is bad. What happens on November 3rd may be even worse, as we may very well elect a guy to the White House who co-authored a crime bill that unfairly incarcerated black criminals and for disproportionately longer prison sentences.
