His quoting Pokemon The Movie was the highlight of the 2012 Republican Presidential Primary. May he rest in peace now.

Leftist Twitter bots are laughing, calling it karma, due to the fact that he attended the Tulsa Trump rally without a facemask.

Never mind the stage 4 cancer he was dealing with...

He took over Neal Boortz radio show in Atlanta ... down to earth common sense kinda guy

I liked him too. He just wasn't a good presidential candidate. I suppose he just wasn't shifty enough and was too nice (they tried to raise some sort of skeleton from his closet regarding a woman other than his wife, but I don't know how that came out. Might've just been character assassination).

Was on an elevator with Herman Cain about a year ago in Las Vegas... He was out there for a Libertarian conference.

My wife has unfriended 4 people on Facebook already for comments just like that in the last hour ... and she's not the political type

I always liked Herman Cain. In some ways he was a precursor to some of the modern non-conventional Presidential candidates. Would never have voted for him, but he seemed like a good guy. Also, the campaign commercial where he stares at the camera and slowly smiles just slays me. I don’t even know why it’s so funny. Rest In Peace.

I believe his cancer had been in remission for more than ten years, so it wouldn't be something he was 'dealing with' when he died. Theres no excuse to use his death as a political football by either side to play up or down Covid.

It's really sad that he died after catching COVID at a large public indoor event, right after he and his staff were very vocal on social media about how they weren't going to wear masks and nobody should be required to. This is despite the fact that he was high risk due to his age and status as a cancer survivor.

I hope his tragic and preventable death can be a wakeup call to anyone still doubting the seriousness of the virus.

He got symptoms 11 days after the rally. He probably didn't' catch it there. If you get a bad case of covid, you usually have bad symptoms within 2 days. I have a client who's a contact tracer in NY. He's seen a lot.

He likely got it somewhere else.

For the last time, the MASKS are NOT keeping people from getting COVID. It is touching surfaces, and then touching your eyes/nose/mouth area!!!

These things will happen WITH OR WITHOUT A FACEMASK!!

You mask Nazis are misinformed. The CDC in MARCH and early April said masks were pointless. Now...they're the end all/be all.... WHAT?!

Everything I've heard and read has been 10-14 days.

What's the source of your information? We started mandated masking locally just over 3 weeks ago. There's a high correlation between lower cases and wearing a mask. That's not necessarily cause and effect proof, but it's pretty darn coincidental if masks aren't the reason.

I think that's the outside range. Pretty sure 2-5 days is what's typical. So like he said, he probably didn't catch it there, although it's certainly possible. I would assume him dealing with cancer makes it a little less likely that it took 11 days to show symptoms. but maybe that's backwards and a weak immune response means the most obvious symptoms take longer to show up.

How do you know it was preventable? Have you access to his medical file, And therefore breaking HIPAA laws?

Yes Jr, it is transmitted that way, but not very often. The Chinese wanted us to believe that was the only way. You evidently still toe the Chinese line. Nobody else does. The primary mode is large to medium droplet airborne. It's also beginning to look like small droplet stuff plays a part. When you have something new, you are going to learn new things about it and change your views quite often as new stuff is learned. Well you do unless you are stupid.

I did because everything he said was wrong. No one is laughing or calling it karma that Mr. Cain unfortunately passed away and finally there is no evidence that he caught the virus at that rally. There is evidence he was traveling prior, so no evidence either way. Also as the other poster stated his cancer was in remission. So he was totally wrong with his right wing statements that’s why he got downvoted.

This is what I believe. If it takes 10-14 days to show symptoms, you're largely asymptomatic to mild symptoms, whereas if you start showing symptoms within the first two days, the likely hood of having a really bad case goes way up especially if you're older.

I had no idea he had cancer previously. I would think that would have made him more susceptible, but to me he always came off as an healthy guy from the outside looking in. I figured he was late 60s, not 74. Sad he passed away I liked him.

This is wrong. Most transmission is human to human transmission. It passes from droplets that come out of a person's mouth.

Surface transmission isn't as easy as they once believed.

So you know exactly how and where he got it? What’s it like having god-like powers like that?

You could’ve typed “He got what he deserved” and spent less time on your post, jackass.

Talking about twitter bots --- it's sad / disturbing that people were posting under his twitter account while he's in the hospital dying.

I know that's how 99% of social media accounts work for political or famous people. But it's still weird. And just another reason not to follow all that crap.

B.S. I doubt "NO ONE" is laughing or calling it karma. The problem with leftists or right wing people is that only see things their way. There are no moderates anymore when it comes to the extremists on both sides. They don't recognize the faults in both parties. Your black and white statement proves that.

Do you have scientific evidence of this correlation? Because there is much more evidence we see every day of covid cases continuing to rise despite mask mandates.

Before the mask nazis attack, I'm not anti mask. But the "science" you guys use to bash people over the heads for daring to have an opinion on the subject is not scientific at all (that comment is not directed at you, rocket).

It's at this point that I would remind you of a few things:

1. It's highly unlikely that he caught it at the Tulsa rally, much to your Trump-hating chagrin.
2. The logic for wearing masks is supposedly not to protect yourself, but to be courteous to those around you (you gotta get your narratives straight).
3. I haven't seen many people doubting the seriousness of the virus. It's very serious, particularly to folks like Herman Cain - older people with multiple co-morbidities. Healthy people under 50? Instead of offering my opinion, which you will immediately attack without shame, I'd just encourage you to look at the science.

I hope all this exercising you are getting from reaching and jumping to conclusions is having a positive impact on your health.

I do not have evidence that masks help, but the local authorities do. Tune in today at noon on waff.com and see what they say. There will be the local EMA director, a hospital CEO or state health representative, and either the mayor of Huntsville or Madison.

The 10-14 day thing is nonsense. That was thrown out in the early days of the pandemic because there were so many unknowns. The real incubation period is up to 7 days and typically 3-5. You know, just like other corona viruses.

So you're saying we should expect to hear about a rapid decline in new cases today because mask mandates are helping? I would love to hear a briefing like that but I doubt that will happen. There will be continued encouragement of mask wearing and theories about how it will help, but the real evidence is new cases. If they were as effective as we are lead to believe, we would have already started seeing a sharp decline.
