I have 2 dinners and one lunch left in Orange Beach - where do I eat? Nothing too fancy, just some good damn food. And somewhere who will serve a drunk *******
Wife loves breakfast food, so we are thinking about Ducks Diner to please everyone. Going to try Harpoons now.

Doc’s has always been my favorite greasy / fried seafood place in perhaps the whole AL / FL panhandle coast areas.

Also if you are focusing more on the “drunk *******” part, Papa Rocco’s on the Gulf Shores side (barely) is a great hole in the wall with cold beer, pizza, and fresh oysters on the half-shell on the cheap. Probably not the greatest spot for kids but they do have live music and good vibes.

The Gulf is good too for overall outdoor atmosphere, great drinks, but the food is a bit pricey for what you get.

There's not a Joe's Crab Shack for miles of that place. You're screwed.

Few places to consider:

LaPlaya in OB
Hub Stacy's in Perdido Key (Sandwiches / music -- Local place)
The Point in Perdido Key
Perdido Key Breakfast Club (good breakfast / brunch food.....closes at 2 pm)
Cobalt in OB

But I like Bozos (pascagoula) and Tarantos (woolmarket) as quick options with good food on the gulf coast.

Edit:

I read that as Ocean Springs....not Orange Beach. Ignore post.

We used a personal Chef based out of Pensacola.

Great meal. Make more than we could eat over 3 days. Paid him a flat fee plus food cost. Didn't have to deal with a crowds, wait times, etc.

I like Tacky Jacks breakfast. Great bloody Mary’s too.
I would do Docs for lunch or Sea n Suds.
Cobalt for dinner and GT’s on the Bay - just down from Docs on the left hand side.
All casual with great food and atmosphere.

I live in Gulf Shores. My absolute favorite place is Fisherman’s Corner. Outstanding food. Looks a little rough outside, and inside for that matter, but food makes up for it. Located in Florida just east of Innerarity Point Bridge. Probably ten or fifteen minute drive from Orange Beach.

For the atmosphere I like Pleasure Island Tiki Bar. The food is not bad but doesn't compare to Cobalts and all the rest. I also like Fisher at Orange Beach Marina. I know Docs is recommended a lot but I think they are overrated.

Anchor Bar is one of our favorites, its what I call eclectic farm to table food. There will only be 6 items on the menu at any time. Never had a bad meal there. GT's has the best Shrimp and Grits in my opinion, steaks are pretty good as well. Bon Temps is my Po Boy place but they are only doing lunch right now due to lack of help. Try the Chicken Cracklins if you go. I'm working my way through the menu at OSO at Bear Point Marina and so far so good. They usually have live music and a pretty good beer selection.

I don't know if anywhere in OBA can not qualify for the "Not too fancy" but Cobalt and Big Fish are two of my favorites that are nicer.

The Keg if you like dive bar burgers.

Little bit out of the way, but I like Tin Top in Bon Secour.

Yes OSO is the old Flippers. The lease ran out around the first of the year and the building owner wanted to put in his own restaurant. The owner of Flippers bought Franco’s and carried some of the old dishes with him, haven’t tried it yet.

i had the burger at O’Choppers last week and it’s better than the Keg. Chicken bites are excellent too.

I like O'Choppers for a beer and burger sometimes. Like the Patty melt too. Never tried the Keg. Not sure I'm tough enough to fight my way out of there. Ha. For a change of pace I sometimes go to Cactus Cantina for a shrimp quesadilla and a beer or two.

It is highly depressing that the annual Shrimp Festival has been cancelled.

Thanks China!

This is what I needed. Something specific and right up my alley. Blackfish is THE best gulf fish and I I’ve only caught one this year, so I may have to try that.

Doc’s has always been my favorite

It used to be mine too. That changed about 10 yrs ago when, as I was waiting for a receipt at the cash register, I look down and saw a mouse running around in the glass display case. Never again. If a mouse is out front, it's no telling what's in the back.

Been sitting in Perdido watching it rain all day. All the above are good ones and spots we hit a good bit. Here’s one we stared doing at lunch that surprised me. LuLu’s, I wasn’t on. Oats but the kids wanted to go. Wife and I had the red snapper multiple times and it’s been great each time. It’s also the only place where my family of 4 can’t eat all the $37.00 crab claws in 2 min. They give you a actual lb. Also it’s big and open if you are rona worried.
Digging dog, what are you doing at the beach during prime time landscape season!!!

Thanks for bringing this up. I have a week booked the last week of September in GS. Haven't visited there in over 10 years
