I see 1,900+ reported on 7/4. 7/21 & 6/22 at 1,646 & 1,635, respectively.

Guess the 7/4 is a backlog though.

not being a jackass, has the death rate dropped down to the common flu rate yet?

Don't think so. The latest estimates of IFR I've seen still have it at twice as deadly to four times as deadly as the flu, so .2% to .4%. Those numbers may be dated now, as those estimates came out before we had cases shoot up while fatalities stayed flat.

If only we had testing to the level we would need to verify this as basically fact.

we may find that treatments for 19 will cause future flu death rates plummet

How have hospitalizations looked the past week? Stable?

This is for L4 or any of the other medical professionals on here. If a person from an LTC facility is admitted to the hospital due to Covid-19, is it true they have to test negative twice before they are admitted back in the LTC facility? I

This stuff simply kills the elderly more than the flu and is spread easier/faster. Plus, the flu has a "vaccine". There's truly not a ton of difference beyond that.

If only we had lapped the entire field in total testing minus a country who had a significant head start and who could possibly be and likely is lying.

If only we had gone from 0 test to 5,000,0000 per week in 3.5 months.

If only the USA was better.

If only Barack Obama was still president or joe Biden or Hilary Clinton or......ANYONE BESIDES ORANGE MAN BAD.

who knows where we are at with the numbers with hospitals and clinics all over the place with reporting and testing times. Some clinics and hospitals are up to two weeks now? I don't understand how they are staying on top of anything if it's taking two weeks to process something. My wife got tested at ummc last week and it took 36 hours. I got tested at baptist clinic which they sent it to baptist and now it's on day 9 post test day. hell if it comes back negative. i will have quarantined for at least a week and a half for nothing. it's looking two weeks. So it's safe to assume that what ever numbers we are looking at being reported from MSDH are at least two weeks behind for a large portion of the tests.

Most of us have common sense.

I know this - if we were testing everyone in the country once per week, it still wouldn't be enough for people with a political agenda.

I don't know. I'm not in that field. I know a lot of our nursing home deaths here have been in the home, not in the hospital.

Yes there is. This is not just a respiratory virus. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

To young people with no health issues, it's no worse. To old folks, it's a killer. Im only concerned with the deaths. But the death rates, you're going to find out, are very similar minus those old folks. And let's not act like you're a GD expert. I've seen it myself too.
It might kill someone like me. But so would the flu. Especially swine flu. My 76 year old dad handled it easily. My 70 year old coworker died from it. All of my friends who've had it, recovered fine. They mostly said the aches were worse but that's about it. This **** isn't the deadliest thing we've ever seen. We'll all end up with it. So you doomsdayers best prepare. Because you fear it.

You certainly have proven ignorance is bliss. I honestly hope if you are truly in the medical field it is far away from anything covid.

You continue to try to convince anyone who will listen this is a killer of all. The numbers in no way back your claims. They do just the opposite.

It is different from the flu as there seems, for at least some people, to be a circulatory component of it as it has caused blood clots in people and that is what has killed them.

I'm far from a tin foil hat conspiracy theorist, but there is a lot about corona that is absolutely baffling to me. Has there been any other disease in human history that can be fatal in some people in just a matter of days while for others be completely asymptomatic? Has there been another that can have such a large range of symptoms that anything you wake up with could be a symptom of it? Or one that can kill in so many ways? A disease this unique I have a hard time thinking just popped up on its own. It is completely against nature. I am going to have to be convinced this wasn't a manmade biological weapon. Now whether the Chinese accidentally let it escape the lab or intentionally did it I have no idea.

The virus is 100% political, unless you get it and wind up in an emergency room unable to breath. Then it is 100% medical. Neither, science, nor truth, nor common sense play any role in the opinions of those trying to make a political points with the virus.

No I don't. Don't lie to have an argument. It can and DOES cause severe illness in younger people even if it doesn't kill them. Think a month or so off work and a week are two in the hospital is a vactation? . They also are the primary spreaders. When thy get it it get's passed into nursing homes and stay at home elderly and sick. Controlling the spread among the young is THE key to controlling it.
