Jeff Sessions will have to go back to hiding under his desk like a damn coward yet again. He pretty much handed Nancy Pelosi a written letter of capitulation as soon as he arrived in Washington and performed an "old fashioned" on George Soros.

He was part of the deep state.

I would like to reiterate that one of the head coaches of the 3-2 game is very likely about to be a US Senator.

Don’t forget his co-deepstate infiltrators: Rex Tillerson, James Mathis, John Bolton, etc.

He's 73. He has to be a multimillionaire if he has a lick of financial sense. You wouldn't see my *** anywhere but in my house or on a boat if I was his age in that position.

An election?
Between two horrible candidates where you can't even feel good about deciphering which one is horrible and which one is just bad, and voting for the bad one???
The hell you say.
Sums up last 30 years of politics.
And more to come.

It's always fascinating to me how Republicans love to complain where all the moderate/Blue Dog Democrats have gone. The answer is easy - whenever there is a moderate Democrat in Congress (such as Jones), Republicans hate them anyway and paint them as just as must of a socialist as any other Democrat, and then they lose reelection.

Whenever there's a wave election like 2010 or 2014, it's largely not liberal Democrats losing reelection and getting replaced by Republicans, it's moderates. For example, 35 Democrats voted against the Affordable Care Act and almost all of them were thrown out in the 2010 midterms anyway and replaced with Republicans. Jones is by all rankings the 2nd or 3rd most centrist Democratic Senator, and yet he's the only one who stands any real chance of getting beat this year, which will push the overall caucus further to the Left, just like what has happened to the House Democrats over the last decade.

Imagine how low of a place in life you'd have to be, that you'd even consider voting for Tommy Tuberville to be a United States Senator

Did the Trump endorsement push him over the top? If so, that is some big influence that would push a first time politician over Sessions, who has been in office forever.

Iron Bowl twitter will at least be fun this fall. Here's the Alabama Democratic Party with a strong opener...

He lost his last Iron Bowl 36-0, collects millions of dollars in pension money from hard-working Alabamians, and bilked investors based on their trust in his investment advice.Tubs, Doug’s gonna run through you like Fred Talley at an 11AM Jefferson-Pilot game. #OneAlabama https://t.co/6E4iofoMz1— Alabama Democrats (@aldemocrats) July 15, 2020

If Alabama started turning blue for whatever reason, does anyone doubt that Tuberville would flip to the Democrats' side?

I complained years ago that politics has turned into SEC fandom. My team can do no wrong, your team cheats. Even if my team does something wrong it doesn’t matter because they are my team and I will never leave them. Who knew how prophetic that was going to be.

I'm no Tuberville fan. Nobody knows what he stands for. Nobody knows what they're getting. He's a mediocre candidate. That said, your statement is ridiculous, and given your posting history, it would be wise for you to not comment on how low of a place others are in life.

A moderate Democrat is still a radical leftist.

Everything is relative...

Both sides have their ideologically whacko elements that get all the attention, but policies actually implemented tend to be similar. Republican control of both houses and the presidency have not resulted in blanket abortion bans or permitted companies to dump toxic waste wherever they want, and similar level of Democratic Party control has not resulted in socialized medicine and outlawing billionaires.

Most of the states have fairly static party affiliations. If someone from the other party wins, they usually have to be fairly moderate and have an unpopular opponent (see Doug Jones and Scott Brown). They're vulnerable in the next election because they cannot beat the drum that gets their base fired up and the other side can put up a candidate that doesn't have the flaws of (or flaws nearly as bad as) their previous candidates.
