History Channel or MTV?

Honorable mention CNN before someone picks the low hanging fruit.

MTV started out strong too

They once played music videos and beavis and butthead. It was a pioneer of sorts on the reality tv angle but that ruined my personal interest.

I think a true music channel could get some support if done right. Maybe there is one and I'm unaware.

I actually like Pickers 90% of the time, it’s the Oak Island and Ancient Aliens that they can burn the tapes of. They are going to be showing actual documentaries on Sunday nights now. The last several have been good. If you have it The Smithsonian Channel trumps The History Channel. It’s more of a cross between The history channel and Nat Geo. Their Aerial America series is phenomenal.

When they came out with MTV2 I was a big fan. They played a lot of alternative rock music videos and more obscure bands and they did crazy stuff like on New Years Eve 1999 they played Prince “1999” 99 times in a row. They started off the new year by playing every music video in MTVs catalogue in alphabetical order by title 24/7. It took them until I think March to finish.

Food Network lost most of my interest when their shows evolved to promote personalities of their “stars” and less about instructional cooking.

Give me more Good Eats and less Guy’s Grocery Games or what have you...

Agree the grocery games show is bad but Triple D is good background tv & has done a ton for locally owned restaurants. Guy is a clown but seems like he has a good heart.

Guy Fieri is one of the most under appreciated people on the planet.

I gotta give CNN credit. The series called the decades "The Sixties" .... "the ____" I liked.

History channel is just not the History channel anymore. It's anything but. There are series that I like "Project Blue Book" is actually a decent show. "Vikings" etc... BUT it's anything but history. AHC is where I go for that.

Agreed. Dude gets dumped on, but he TONS for hard working entrepreneurs across our country. Not to mention that dude has to work 24/7 because he's got show on round the clock. Granted some of it is repacked stuff, its still a **** pile of content.

Neither "Project Bluebook" or "Vikings" are being renewed by History Channel. They're getting away from all scripted drama shows, and will only have mini-series and documentaries. Ancient Aliens is a documentary. ;) "Oak Island" is a reality program, but is on a historical subject.

Both of those programs, while being dramatic fiction, have some element of historic truth to them, in that they existed.

What was the other music video channel that continued to actually have music videos? As far as I know, it's not still around.

He also does a ton of charity work not for the limelight, just because he seems like a good dude.

Ancient Aliens is pseudo science and a platform for crackpots. But it can be entertaining at times.

Agree the travel channel should change its name to the paranormal channel if it's not already taken!

I hope you’ve never complained about the source of links before. Those sites have more pop-up ads than SPS on a terrible day.
Tucker’s is a commentary show, not a news show. I’m confused by what point you're trying to prove. All the evening shows are commentary shows. Surely you knew this. Right? You’re really just trying to troll, yes?

He also is one of their few stars that really appeal to both males and females. I like his show where they all cook in his backyard. “Guys Ranch Kitchen”, I believe. It usually has some pretty creative dishes.

Ever been to one of his restaurants? I ate at the one in downtown Louisville, KY and it was rather underwhelming. I get it, it’s a bit of a tourist trap, but still. Ed Lee’s place in Louisville are awesome. Underrated city, IMO.
