Actions will be taken to lower the rest of spreading COVID-19. These include

Social distancing, including modified hallway traffic and flow from entrances and exits

Face coverings worn by students, staff and visitors, except when impracticable

Hand washing and sanitizing regularly; all students will use hand sanitizer upon arriving to school

• Possibility of temperature checks based on district protocols
• Students, staff who live with anyone with COVID-19 asked to stay home
• Custodial staff will disinfect high-touch surfaces throughout the school

There are a lot of "ifs" in those plans (possible temp checks, "asked" to stay home if living with a Covid person, etc.).

It’s all just to try and make themselves and other feel like they are doing something proactive. The reality is, if a kid gets this they are likely asymptotic, so temp checks are useless anyway.

But - they can get the virus, be asymptomatic, and carry it home to older members of the family. Of course, if they're asymptomatic, then temperature measurement doesn't mean much.

Yeah, that’s my point. If asymptotic, which I’m guessing most children are, temp checks are useless. My work has been checking temps since about mid April. We’ve recently had a rash of people with covid. Well over half the positive cases were asymptotic. They just had to get tested because a co-worker they work closely with tested positive.

I know companies/schools have to do something, it’s just I think the temp checks are really to make people feel better. They are pretty useless in reality.
