That’s where your wrong. You only get cancelled for voicing an opinion the opposes the left.
NASCAR truck driver quit because of banning confederate flags. I guess it was personal to him because just like the confederacy he never won a damn thing.

Gundy’s job is largely reliant on selling himself and his program to 16 - 21 year old African American male athletes.

I wouldn’t wear that shirt if that was my job.

Why would you "imagine" that? It's a basic cable channel that's right there with CNN, Fox, etc., to anyone who has cable. It's been discussed by late night hosts like John Oliver, Bill Maher, Trevor Noah, and President Trump has sent out quite a few Tweets about it. A lot of the pretentious left-wing internet sources like The Atlantic have done "takedowns" too.

Most people who follow politics have surely heard of it by now, even if just in passing and not realizing just how out there it is.

But when they’re getting tagged in the video clips of OAN saying “Black Lives Matters is a farce. It stands for lies not for lives”

It doesn’t take them long to figure it out.

Kap had job offers but he got greedy And thought he was worth more than he was being offered. So in theory he canceled himself because no team wanted to pay him a bunch of money and have to deal with the political aspects of him.

He also had a tryout set up by the NFL last year that he refused to attend. Kap is the reason Kap isn't playing in the NFL, not because he has been oppressed by NFL owners. The reality of the situation is that he knows he can make more money by playing the victim.

I still say what happened to Kap was mostly of his own making and I still think there is more to the story as no other athlete lost their job in the NFL for kneeling and Kap said some half crazy stuff beyond just kneeling.

Something beyond the kneeling scared every single owner off that didn’t scare them off from other extremely opinionated guys like Eric Reid.

Even with that most people didn’t hate Kap for what he said he was protesting but rather they thought he was disgracing a national symbol and at the time most of the paying audience and sponsors and even NFL players agreed

He never got a job offer to play QB in the NFL after the 49ers told him to take a hike.

I understand the free market and why a team didn't want to deal with the backlash of signing a controversial non-elite QB. I'm just pointing out that conservatives cancel people whose views they don't like too.

The 49ers didn’t tell him to take a hike. Kaepernick opted out of his contract with San Francisco

It's been pretty widely reported for years that the 49ers told him to either opt out or get cut. He was never suiting up for them again after the 2016 season.

That's the spin, that OANN is just a generic conservative outlet and not something well out of the mainstream. But I think most of here can see through that.

Like I said earlier, most P5 coaches are openly Republican and it doesn't cause issues like this. I could definitely believe that Gundy didn't know, but it should be pretty clear that this isn't a mere case of "they didn't like his conservative shirt" or we'd see these stories about a lot of coaches all the time.

It’s not spin that they are a conservative outlet. It’s a fact. As far as them being fringe, They aren’t some subversive spinoff of the kkk. They are basically the conservative version of msnbc, but instead of being eaten up with anti-trump stories, they are eaten up with pro trump stories. Heaven forbid people have a choice that doesn’t go lockstep with blatant self-loathing liberal propaganda that makes up 70% of our news media.

Also leaving out that he asked the 49ers for permission to explore a trade and they allowed him to do that.He got a few offers and some of them at 7million a year but he turned them down because it didn't meet or go over his almost 12 million salary with the 49ers.A couple of those deals were for multiple years.

The right-wing equivalent of MSNBC is Fox News. Both networks are silly and over-the-top in their claims of unbias, when it's pretty clear to everyone what side they're on, but they do try to maintain some level of professionalism.

There isn't a cable equivalent for OANN, as nobody is throwing out the ridiculous conspiracy theories as fact like they do (Seth Rich, pizzagate, David Hogg/Parkland trutherism, #Obamagate - maybe one day we'll find out what that even is supposed to be, Planned Parenthood falsehoods, George Soros funding everything, Buffalo old man = antifa and started it trutherism, accusations of the "real goals" of Black Lives Matter, etc., just to scratch the surface). I realize that argument may not be effective with everyone here, as many posters believe all of those things, but OANN has been caught many times literally reporting Russian propaganda as fact (I'm serious - I think we all know that the Russian government puts out fake news on its state-run TV channels, but most Western media sources know better than to believe it and report it).

Maybe their equivalent is The Intercept or something like that. Or some of the lower-tier Huffington Post or Daily Kos blogs. I encourage you to read a little more about what OANN has reported, but I really don't think you want to be going to bat for them.

Not sure what your angle here is, Landshark.

I was just disputing Quaors claim that OAN is readily available on every cable network. It ain't.

Obviously I'll have to stand corrected and shame on me for doing only cursory fact-checking on my post.

It is widely (though not universally) available to a lot of people and not nearly as obscure as people on this thread have made it out to be. I will stand by that statement.

That happened before he ever knelt, in the offseason before the 2016 season.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...er-broncos-progressing-trade-colin-kaepernick

The deal didn't happen, Kaepernick protested during the 2016 season, first as a backup then as a starter. He has not had any trade or free agent opportunities of any kind since then.

Yes, no REAL outlet would propagate wild and completely unfounded conspiracy theories like....I don’t know....Russian collusion for literally 3 years straight. And I’m going to have to disagree on the OAN not being conservative MSNBC. I think it’s a pretty fair comparison from the likes of Chris Matthews (oops), Chris Hayes, Sir Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough et al seething daily about the evils of one man and completely ignoring anything positive he has done for minority communities. The only major cable news outlet that vies for that much extreme liberal bias is CNN. I would be 100% for just reporting facts of the day, but both sides seem incapable and feel the need to constantly editorialize.

Would have been fine if it'd been CNN or MSNBC.

I'm not sure why people associate conservatism with racism.

Have you not read comments from OAN? There are plenty thst are racist and the organization is conservative.

As for why conservatism in general is associated with racism, it could be because due to the long history of conservative politicians creating policies that directly disenfranchise multiple groups of minorities. Or it could be because historically, many who are profiled because they are outwardly racist also have obvious conservative leanings.

Dude. OANN is like 17ing Alex Jones. Take a quick look at their WikiPedia page for cited examples of some of the **** they say. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_America_News_Network#Syria_chemical_attack . Here's some gems for you:

1. One of OAN's reporters, Kristian Brunovich Rouz, simultaneously works for the Russian propaganda outlet and news agency Sputnik, which is state-owned; when Rouz runs favorable segments on OAN that relate to Russia, OAN does not disclose that he also works for Sputnik.

2.
In April 2018, OAN ran a segment falsely claiming that a California bill would ban the sale of Bibles.

3.
In May 2019, OAN published a report claiming the White Helmets (humanitarian organization) had admitted to staging fake chemical weapons attacks, which were intended to put blame on the Assad (does this guy's name ring a bell?) regime. OAN referred to the humanitarian organization, which is partly funded by the US State Department, as "terrorist-linked".

4.
In June 2020, during protests against racism and police brutality in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, OANN reporter Jack Posobiec falsely claimed that there were pipe bombs planted at the Korean War Memorial in Washington D.C., and that "federal assets [were] in pursuit". There were no pipe bombs, nor is there any evidence that any "federal assets" pursued it.

I don't even know what the hell is going on with Mike Gundy, but if you think that OANN is a remotely credible news source, you're very, very mistaken.

Meanwhile, CNN spent 3+ years pushing Russia conspiracy as fact.

It goes both ways.

That **** was so confusing and muddled with people injecting opinion into events that I honestly have no idea what is actually the truth.
I assume its somewhere between what the left has claimed and what Trump has claimed.
I have 0 reason to take Trump on his word since he is continually shown to lie or not know the truth. And I have 0 reason to believe much of the left media's reporting since I can't figure out what is truthful and what is just trying to connect events to make ztrump look bad.

Its almost for sure somewhere in the middle. That many people aren't charged if there is literally nothing shady.

Its a shame that the Russia shitshow took on such a life of its own because if you just sit back and listen to the lies/misinformation Trump says on a daily basis, thst alone should be plenty to discuss on nightly news. Hate on the guy for all that he says each day and be done with it.

hell, I’ll do it:

Main article:
MSNBC controversies[h=3]Liberal bias[/h]Main article: Media bias in the United States § Liberal bias
In November 2007, a New York Times article stated that MSNBC's primetime lineup was tilting more to the left.[SUP][78][/SUP] Since then, commentators have argued that MSNBC has a bias towards left-leaning politics and the Democratic Party. Fox News media analyst Howard Kurtz, while previously in the same role at The Washington Post, stated that the channel's evening lineup "has clearly gravitated to the left in recent years and often seems to regard itself as the antithesis of Fox News."[SUP][31][/SUP] In 2011, Politico referred to MSNBC as "left-leaning",[SUP][79][/SUP] and Steve Kornacki of Salon.com noted that, "MSNBC’s prime-time lineup is now awash in progressive politics."[SUP][80][/SUP]Regarding changes in the channel's evening programming, senior vice president of NBC News Phil Griffin claimed that "it happened naturally. There isn't a dogma we're putting through. There is a 'Go for it.'"[SUP][78][/SUP]
In the February 2008 issue of Men's Journalmagazine, an MSNBC interviewee quoted a senior executive as saying that liberal commentator Keith Olbermann "runs MSNBC" and that "because of his success, he's in charge" of the channel.[SUP][81][/SUP] In 2007, The New York Times called Olbermann MSNBC's "most recognizable face".[SUP][78][/SUP] In September 2008, MSNBC stated that Olbermann and Chris Matthews would no longer anchor live political events, with David Gregory assuming that role. MSNBC cited the growing criticism that they were "too opinionated to be seen as neutral in the heat of the presidential campaign."[SUP][82][/SUP][SUP][83][/SUP]Olbermann's show Countdown continued to run before and after the presidential and vice presidential debates, and both Matthews and Olbermann joined Gregory on the channel's election night coverage.[SUP][citation needed][/SUP]
On November 13, 2009, in the days leading up to the release of 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's book Going Rogue, MSNBC's Dylan Ratigan used photoshopped pictures of Palin on the channel's Morning Meeting program. Ratigan apologized a few days later.[SUP][84][/SUP]
In October 2010, MSNBC began using the tagline "Lean Forward". Some media outlets, including msnbc.com, claimed that the network was now embracing its politically progressive identity.[SUP][44][/SUP][SUP][85][/SUP][SUP][86][/SUP]
In January 2012, MSNBC used Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, and other network commentators during its coverage of the Iowa Republican caucuses. Nando Di Fino of the Mediaite website said MSNBC was "giving up on the straight news coverage, and instead [appearing] to be aiming to create some controversy."[SUP][87][/SUP]
In November 2012, The New York Times called MSNBC "The Anti-Fox" and quoted former President Bill Clinton as saying, "Boy, it really has become our version of Fox."[SUP][88][/SUP] Citing data from the A.C. Nielsen TV ratings service, the article noted that while the Fox News Channel had a larger overall viewership than MSNBC, the two networks were separated by only around 300,000 viewers among the 25–54 age bracket most attractive to advertisers.
In the Pew Research Center's 2013 "State of the News Media" report, MSNBC was found to be the most opinionated news network, with 85 percent of the content being commentary or opinions and the remaining 15 percent being factual reporting. The report also stated that in 2012, MSNBC spent only $240 million on news production compared to CNN's $682 million and the Fox News Channel's $820 million.[SUP][89][/SUP]
Others have argued that MSNBC has a bias against progressive politics. Phil Donahue's show was canceled in 2003 due to his opposition to the Iraq War, and Donahue later commented that the management of MSNBC required that "we have two conservative (guests) for every liberal. I was counted as two liberals."[SUP][90][/SUP] Cenk Uygur, after his departure from MSNBC in 2011, said that MSNBC management had told him "people in Washington" were "concerned about [his] tone,"[SUP][91][/SUP] and that he "didn't want to work in a place that didn't challenge power."[SUP][92][/SUP]
[h=4]Favoritism towards Barack Obama[/h]Some Democratic Party supporters, including former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell and Bill Clinton advisor Lanny Davis,[SUP][93][/SUP] criticized MSNBC during and after the 2008 Democratic Party primaries as covering Barack Obamamore favorably than Hillary Clinton. Rendell said, "MSNBC was the official network of the Obama campaign," and called their coverage "absolutely embarrassing".[SUP][94][/SUP][SUP][95][/SUP] Rendell later became an on-air contributor to MSNBC.[SUP][96][/SUP]
A study done by the Project for Excellence in Journalism showed that MSNBC had less negative coverage of Obama (14 percent of stories versus 29 percent in the press overall) and more negative stories about Republican presidential candidate John McCain (73 percent of its coverage versus 57 percent in the press overall).[SUP][97][/SUP] MSNBC's on-air slogan during the week of the 2008 presidential election, "The Power of Change", was criticized for being too similar to Obama's campaign slogan of "Hope and Change".[SUP][98][/SUP] After the election, conservative talk show host John Ziegler made a documentary entitled Media Malpractice.... How Obama Got Elected, which was very critical of the media's role, especially MSNBC's, in the election. While promoting the documentary, he had an on-air dispute with MSNBC news anchor Contessa Brewer about how the media, especially MSNBC, had portrayed Sarah Palin.[SUP][99][/SUP]
During MSNBC's coverage of the Potomac primary, MSNBC's Chris Matthews said, "I have to tell you, you know, it's part of reporting this case, this election, the feeling most people get when they hear Barack Obama's speech. My, I felt this thrill going up my leg. I mean, I don't have that too often." This led Fox News to assert that both he and MSNBC were biased toward Obama.[SUP][100][/SUP]
[h=4]Rise of the New Right documentary[/h]In June 2010, the MSNBC documentary Rise of the New Right aired. It featured interviews with right-wing figures, including Dick Armey, the former House majority Leader, Orly Taitz, a leading figure in the "birther" movement, and conspiracy theorist radio host Alex Jones. The documentary also showed the Michigan Militia's survival training camp and hit the campaign trail with Kentucky senatorial candidate Rand Paul.[SUP][101][/SUP]
The documentary angered Tea Party movement figures and others on the right. After the documentary aired, FreedomWorks, chaired by Armey, called for a boycott of Dawnand Procter & Gamble, which advertised during Hardball with Chris Matthews.[SUP][102][/SUP][SUP][103][/SUP] The boycott was ineffective as Procter & Gamble continued to advertise on the show.
[h=4]Romney coverage during 2012 election[/h]A study by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism found that MSNBC's coverage of Mitt Romney during the final week of the 2012 presidential campaign(68 percent negative with no positive stories in the sample) was far more negative than the overall press, and even more negative than it had been during October 1 to 28, when 5 percent was positive and 57 percent was negative.[SUP][104][/SUP] On the other hand, their coverage of Barack Obama improved in the final week before the presidential election. From October 1 to 28, 33 percent of stories were positive and 13 percent negative. During the campaign's final week, 51 percent of MSNBC's stories were positive while there were no negative stories at all about Obama in the sample.
[h=3]Romney family grandchild[/h]Political commentator Melissa Harris-Perry and her guest panel, in a look back on the 2013 segment of her show, featured a picture of former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his extended family. Romney was holding on his knee his adopted grandchild, Kieran Romney, an African-American. Harris-Perry and her guests, including actress Pia Glenn and comedian Dean Obeidallah, joked about coming up with captions for the photo. Glenn sang out, "One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just isn’t the same." Obeidallah said, "It sums up the diversity of the Republican Party and the [Republican National Committee], where they have the whole convention and they find the one black person." Afterwards, Harris-Perry gave an on-air apology as well as apologized in a series of tweets.[SUP][105][/SUP][SUP][106][/SUP]
[h=3]Coverage of the 2020 Democratic Primary[/h]On February 2, 2019, NBC ran a story about presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard claiming that her campaign was benefiting from Russian state media, stating that she had received twice as many mentions on RT, Sputnik Newsand Russia Insider compared to expected front-runners Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.[SUP][107][/SUP]
In March 2019, Yashar Ali, a journalist for The Huffington Post accused Dafna Linzer, a managing editor at MSNBC, of ceding editorial control to the Democratic National Committee. Ali, who planned to announce the locations of the DNC debates in advance of MSNBC, received a call attempting to dissuade him with the phrase "let them make a few phone calls," referring to party leaders.[SUP][108][/SUP] A source quoted by CNN stated that this approach was necessary for any network that has enough of a relationship with the DNC to host its debates.[SUP][109][/SUP]
Candidate Andrew Yang and his supporters have been critical of MSNBC's coverage of his campaign and the speaking time allocated to Yang at a November 2019 primary debate hosted by MSNBC.[SUP][110][/SUP]
