I think his goose is cooked. After Dabo’s controversy and now this, you are pretty dumb to wear any clothing that isn’t generic with no messaging on it.

Good lord I'm so damn ready for people to start getting tired of this cancel culture cancer. Man up! Own it! Don't let a couple of entitled, hypocritical kids dictate what you can and can't wear. And from what I understand his biggest critic is some running back for OSU who is threatening to walk. I'd help that drama queen pack if it got him out of the locker room faster.

over a news network tee shirt?

Man this is getting old. It’s like being stuck in a “real housewives of” marathon.

We’re quickly moving toward an “If I don’t like something, it must be racist” society and that makes me deeply uncomfortable. For what it’s worth, I think OAN is trash.

The shirt with OAN on it?

They report the news, and don't give much opinion,

Can't be much fairer.

This is total Bull ****.!

I’m no OAN watcher by any means. In fact, I think it’s trash. But a man loses his job over wearing the t shirt of a 17ing news station? Just because it’s not “woke” to agree with the station’s politics? Give me a damn break. People have lists their minds. The fact that it’s even a discussion is absurd.

Monetarily though, there’s no way to fire Gundy right now. He’s probably got a huge buyout. With the current uncertainty of college athletics revenue in the near future, combined with the fact that no big boosters are going to pony up to fire a proven winner over this ********- it ain’t happening no matter what any player or Dan Wolken says. And there’s no way a buyout is getting waived over this either.

IT’s 17ing ridiculous that that’s a thing. If the shirt had CNN On it nobody would have said ****. I’d tell the kid I’m a grown *** man and I’ll wear what I like and if you don’t like it you can pack your **** and head out. I’d probably just make Oklahoma state fire me.

It’s pretty disgusting. There will come a time when the majority fights back and says enough is enough. Not sure what the breaking point for that will be but it’s pretty obvious that the envelope will not stop being pushed no matter how far things go. The people who are currently getting cucked will wake up one day.

I’m no Cancel Culture fan by any stretch. But we live in a cancel culture for sure. It will get you cancelled whether you like it or not. You’d be wise not to advertise controversial topics if you are in any kind of high profile job like Mike Gundy.

I had to google what OAN was. Never heard of it before today. What are the chances the RB had never heard of it either until he saw some woke person on twitter trying to cancel gundy?

That drama queen rushed for 2000 yards last year. Yes it's over the top to boycott your own scholarship over a t shirt but 1) we dont know what else the player has experienced in his three years there and 2) if you are doing something that costs you the Big XII player of the year, whether he is already on campus or not, you aren't reading the room. Dabo is getting a pass for being a winner. Gundy ain't Dabo.

That’s where your wrong. You only get cancelled for voicing an opinion the opposes the left.

I think it's cute how many of you think he's pissed about a T-shirt

He has skin in the game. A tshirt isn't triggering him. A culture is.

ETA: I neither lobbying for against him being fired. I'm simply saying there more to this story than a tshirt

I’ll cancel anyone that wears a shirt supporting Flat Earth or anything except the full eradication of mole crickets.

Isnt there an entire thread of people saying they will quit watching football if players kneel?

It's doubtful that would endanger the game of football. We're taking about a culture that wants to shut you down and shut you up completely because of something petty like a tshirt.

The people melting over this just don't realize how "out there" OAN really is.

In all likelihood Gundy doesn't either.

Would have been fine if it'd been CNN or MSNBC.

I'm not sure why people associate conservatism with racism.

And Fox News too. OAN is in a league by itself with all the conspiracy theories reported as fact. Remember that most P5 coaches are openly Republican and don't cause controversies like this.

I don’t know if he got cancelled. He’s been in the news for years, and it’s not from playing football.

He lost his job because what he did affected ratings for his employers, not because of an opinion.

Kap had job offers but he got greedy And thought he was worth more than he was being offered. So in theory he canceled himself because no team wanted to pay him a bunch of money and have to deal with the political aspects of him.

If you're recruiting "democrats", you might want to keep your far right wing politics on the down-low.

He never got a job offer to play QB in the NFL after the 49ers told him to take a hike.

I understand the free market and why a team didn't want to deal with the backlash of signing a controversial non-elite QB. I'm just pointing out that conservatives cancel people whose views they don't like too.
