Best route from Biloxi to Kosciusko?

I’m driving from Biloxi to Kosciusko Saturday morning and need to be there by 11am. My first thought without looking was going through Jackson and once north of Jackson cut across on a highway (once I looked at a map... HW 12?).

But google maps suggested getting off HW 49 at either Mt Olive or Mendenhall and take a small highway north... or go through Meridian & through Philadelphia.

Not knowing where there might be construction right now, I wanted to ask the pack.

Kosiusko is just one of the places that their isn’t a direct route.

You don't want any part of Hwy 49 in Florence/Richland area. Major road construction. I'd probably go the Mendenhall route.

I drive Kosciusko to Hattiesburg often. Best route is to take MS35 north at Mount Olive. The road is fine. You’ll go through Mize, Raleigh, Forest, Carthage, then you’re in Kosciusko.

From Mt. Olive, live in Starkville. No construction on 35 between Mt. Olive and Carthage right now. You may see a MHP on 35 but probably won't. You also may get stuck behind a log truck/chicken truck/random person doing 40mph at any time.

If I was going to drive it, US 49 to Hattiesburg, I 59 to Meridian, MS 19 to Kosy. All 4 lanes except MS 19 from House, MS to Kosy. MS 19 real crooked just north of Pearl river north of Philadelphia but straightens out after about 6 miles. I don't know anything about road construction south of Meridian.

MS 19 north of Meridian to Kosy is about as pretty a drive as you will find, except for Philadelphia.

Hwy 19 to Meridian then Hwy 45 to Mobile.

About 30 miles farther through Meridian, but only 55 miles of 2 lane. 100 miles of 2 lane up 35. Time is negligible either way. Depends on who you get behind on the 2 lane roads.

Depends on where you are. There are 5 major thoroughfares that go through Kosy.

Highways 12,35,43,19 and the Natchez Trace.

Not sure I would call 43 between Kosciusko and Canton major. Faster to take the trace or go through Carthage. That road sucks.

Go to Mt Olive at take 35. I know a family from there that lives on the coast and that's how they always go back.

67 to Saucier 49 to mount olive 35 to Kos

I’ve never made that particular drive, but I’d probably take 49 to Mendenhall and then take 13 until it meets 35 which will go the rest of the way.
