Nephew who refused to quarantine was in orange beach last week.
Tested positive today.
Good luck older people, fat people, preexisting condition people, oh and random seemingly healthy people.
He just spun the chamber and pulled the trigger. Hope it’s a blank for all you nay sayers who worship at the alter of The Fake News.

Welp, I guess all these folks pulled the trigger too today. Oh what’s that? Protesting cures the Covid?!! Awesome!

Wow, I really hope this doesn't restart the outbreak in NY

Oh it will, and somehow portions of the media will blame Mississippi for it. It ticks me off that those of us that took this seriously and followed the guidelines put out watched all of it thrown out the window with the rioters and protests all the while the media cheered it on. Now we’re getting chastised by the same people in the media for returning back to work/church/vacation. The blatant hypocrisy is absolutely revolting. These folks would’ve made great commissars behind the iron curtain.

Does your nephew show any symptoms? Which ones?

Is he expected to recover?

If he wouldn’t quarantine while waiting for results of a test that was given to him because of exposure or symptoms, that was ******.

Our response has been a gross overreaction, but that’s not asking a lot of people. Of course, if our “experts” hadn’t tossed their credibility in the trash, maybe people would be less inclined to rationalize their shitiness.

If your interpretation is correct, then yeah, that's crappy. I took it as nephew went to orange beach healthy, and he came back with Covid

You know, we lost a great bulldog this weekend. After losing his wife last year, the only thing that kept him going was the grandchildren and MSU. Most of that was taken away from him this year due to the lockdowns. No sports in person, limited family interaction, no meeting friends at the Starkville Cafe. The effect on his health was obvious.

He obviously was aware of the what it was doing to him and decided to either “get busy dying, or get busy living.” We were able to spend much more time with him recently as he valued the time with family/independence much more than the risk of Covid. I can’t imagine if he would have passed away and we had followed the advice of some on here and not seen him for the last 4 months.

Sorry if this comes across as crass, but you can take that sanctimonious crap somewhere else. This is not the binary choice L4 and others make it out to be. If you don’t think there are just as many negative effects from SIP place etc, then you are not in the real world.

Ironic that I asked somebody recently, if you knew you only had a year to live and it was living in your basement or living your life and risk getting the Corona, which would you do? I am glad my dad made the choice to live with the time he had left.

Me and my family are headed down also on Sunday. If we get the China 🇨🇳 Bat🦇 flu we’ll “deal with it”.
As one taking head said few mths ago, within 4-5 yrs we’ll probably all have gotten it and either we’ll get over it or die.
Either way, we have got to move along, live our lives and can’t stay “holed up” forever.

Exactly. A friend’s father died of cancer earlier this year. It had been a long battle. For the last month of his life, the hospital wouldn’t allow his family in to see him. His wife only got to see him his last day and a half and the rest of the family was allowed to see him in his last few hours. That’s complete ****.

I did too. If that's the case that he went while awaiting test results, then the nephew was being an idiot, and I owe Poundtown Dog an apology.

Lost my grandmother a couple of weeks ago. 87 and in pretty good health. Had a minor stroke abt 6 weeks before death but was up and moving around and driving around within days of it.

She had stated multiple times she didnt like being pinned up in her home. People would bring her groceries and she’d get in her car the next day and drive to town.

I think the isolation took a toll and she decided she wanted to be with her husband and 2 children who went before her.

Sat down one night to do her crossword puzzles and that’s how we found her the next day.

Hope I can live 87 years and go out on my terms.

I based my interpretation based on the use of the word "quarantine", which to me implies something different than SIP. If the guy was gloating because his nephew got COVID after not sheltering in place, then yes, he's an idiot, unless his nephew is in bad health such that COVID would be particularly dangerous to him.

It is, but I'm not sure there's a better answer. If you start letting a lot of visitors in, you're putting every patient in the hospital at higher risk of CV-19.

I am more scared of that 100 pound women driving that 2000 pound SUV 80 miles an hour up the Interstate than I am of the virus. In fact I am not scared of the virus at all and I am scared as hell of that 100 pound women. Going on vacation Thursday.

Sorry bub. If thousands of people packed in the streets, shoulder to shoulder, in urban areas is acceptable.... if people packing in a 6 block zone in Seattle is acceptable... then your nephew going to Orange Beach is acceptable.

Some of you folks need to pick a concrete stance on this virus and stick with it.

If he knew he might have it and went to Orange Beach anyway then he was very much acting crazy. If you do something similar with HIV you can be charged with attempted murder in many places.

I can’t compare it to the Flu

But you can compare it to HIV? And have people with HIV been murdering people on the beach?

And risk the lives of others... lol how dare he.

He’s not risking the lives of others if the vulnerable would stay their *** at home like they are supposed to. This virus isn’t going anywhere. Only fools think it is. If you are pinning your hopes on a vaccine from the CDC... Lol well good luck with that. Those clowns can’t get the flu vaccine correct.

People who have been exposed and tested are supposed to stay home too. If he knew he might have it and he went anyway, that behavior is absolutely indefensible.

So can the flu, and water, and pit bulls, and ex-wives. If you are going to attempt to make valid points, don’t equate covid and HIV.

It can kill.

Like the flu can. Doesn't mean HIV and flu are similar.

Not saying he isn't a huge *** hole if he was waiting on a test b/c he was exposed or symptomatic and he still went. But still not in the same universe as knowingly exposing somebody to an STD.

Getting exposed to respiratory illnesses is just a risk that you assume when you go out. People go out with the cold and the flu and other stuff all the time. It's a different level going on vacation when you have been exposed to covid, but still more in the huge *** hole territory not attempted murderer.
