Not arguing that I think you're wrong, but, assuming they knew his past, would you not take more caution apprehending someone with a known violent past like Floyd? It's a ****** situation all around but murder it certainly wasn'tI don't doubt that he died from something other than asphyxiation. But it's clear that the actions of the cop contributed to it. He didn't have to take things to the extreme that he did, and be cause he did, that makes him responsible.

Whatever he gets that puts him in jail will be the death sentence for him. A cop that causes the death of someone that was unnecessary will be dead meat behind bars. And if all they charge him with is manslaughter.....well you can bet you will see a 2nd wave of riots.
I completely agree. The tough part will be conviction of a crime the level of magnitude that the rioters are expecting, if the cop can make a legitimate case that he was following protocol. That doesn’t make a difference to me, but legal rules and all.Two men and cuffs is caution. A 9 minute knee to the neck, 3 of which after the guy isn't responding is way over the top.

If the charge is murder and the autopsy says it isn't asphyxiation, not sure how you prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
3 of those minutes where he's limp. That'll usually do it. You'd have to be pretty damn biased or stubborn to think that his death was coincidental and that neck move was SOP. The defense will try to prove that - it's their job. But I doubt they are going to be able to tell the story this man was a ticking time bomb waiting for just for a little extra stress to keel over. Maybe if there were no video evidence, you would get the jury to buy that. Not in this case - those are very powerful scenes documented.
Dr Baden to the rescue.
What if body cam evidence shows that he said he had covid and he was spitting? He damn sure said he had it when he was pinned. Would that make it self defense?

the one cop said they tried for 10 minutes to get him in the car and he resisted - also what if he is found to be high on meth?
