I looked this up after a discussion about this on 247... Since the 2017 draft there have been 15 QB's taken in the first round. 7 of the 15 were on teams that won 8 or less including the bowl game. Two of them were on teams with losing records - Patrick Mahomes (5-7... wow Kingsbury sucks) and Josh Rosen (6-7).

All that to say it wouldn't be that crazy to imagine KJ throwing for 4500 yards, 40 touchdowns and 10-12 ints and then get drafted in the first round... but we still only win 8 or so because the defense is just okay/poor and we lose to Alabama, LSU, Auburn and A&M.
