Today is 14 days since for sure onset of symptoms (Monday May 4).
I’d say I’m at 90%.
I’m not gonna go for a 5k run but I could if I had to.

Mom is doing better also but probably not as good as me.

The state of Mississippi is releasing me back to the wild tomorrow. I’ll restrict movement until probably Thursday.

Friday.....beware.

Apologies if you have already addressed this, but how has the contact tracing by the state been? Just going through the motions or pretty strict?

So I got infect on or around April 27/28
Obviously unaware
I got in a car on April 30 and started driving west toward LA.
Got tested on May 9 in LA.
Got results on May 12
Ms dept of health called me on May 13
Said they were contacted abt a positive test
Asked me some questions and told me I was to quarantine until May 18
Followed up with “orders” through email
Followed up daily with texts

Didn’t ask me abt where I thought I got it but they have called my mom regarding her positive test.

Glad to hear you are doing better.
When the DOH contacted me they asked for a list of people I had come in contact with less than 6' and for more than 10 min and if I had been in contact with anyone that has tested positive. These contacts were then called and put in quartile as well fro 2 weeks since contact. The interesting thing is they did not care about anyone that lives out of state that I had come in contact during those 2 weeks.

What were they texting you about, I never received a single text message?

Basically daily reminders to quarantine.
And yes I told them I was in California and they basically said we don’t care what you do there but quarantine in ms!

That sounds strange. You'd think the various state departments of health would intereact with each other.

It absolutely blew my mind that they want to trace the spread by instilling strict contract tracing but don't give a rat's a$$ if you were a Typhoid Mary across state lines.

I suspect it is more about having the resources than it is about whether they "care". Without a really good information system, I can't imagine what it would take to keep up with all states.

I was exposed in a professional setting very early on. I found out about it through rumor. Confirmed it. The health department nerver contacted me at all. I never had any symptoms if I did get it. They might have gone backwards tracing, but they sure didn't go forwards.

My dad tested positive this week and within 6 hours, the state called us. But he's in a home.

As someone who's faster than you and got COVID, don't run a 5k.
