Once again, a case of the govt being totally clueless of how things work and survive in the real world.

Sure I do, ask them who they were around that night. This type of monitoring is a slippery slope.

We have been beyond that for years. Between my phone, tv, computer, iPad, truck, refrigerator, credit card, drivers license, license plate, wireless router, mail man, bank, accountant, wife, kids, dog, IRS, customers, and the freaking HOA.... I haven't had an resemblance of privacy in years....

Writing down my name at the restaurant. They have been doing it for decades... sneaky bastards called it a "reservation."

So your idea is to memorize the names of the other strangers in the restaurant. You did name the right logical fallacy so props on that.

Who did you walk past in the grocery store? We should start checking in there too

I have no idea. But say one of them tested positive. I'd damn sure want to know I used the fuel pump after them. Or the grocery cart. In a time like this, people knowing where I went kinda seems insignificant if it helps me not infect others.

So if you went to Home Depot today and someone tested positive who had previously entered said Home Depot tested positive within how many days should you be alarmed? 1 day, 2 days, 3 houra?

I am just going to point out the obvious. You use a credit/debit card 98% of the time to pay for stuff these days. At restaurants you wait for a table and give them your name. You drive a vehicle to a parking lot full of cameras.

Quit making up reasons to be outraged. That's usually the left's deal... Now, you are all worked up about a restaurant having your name... You have been giving it to them for years.

I suggest you worry about what I do, what's that creepy 17er in the back doing to my food.

Sure, makes sense. As it stands,, between store discount/ purchase tracking cards, credit cards, and debit cards- most modern grocery stores could figure out at least half the people who are in there at any given time.

As for your outrage at restaurants keeping a log of those who sat and ate, its a change and I know that many fear change, so I can see why this would cause some to be frustrated/annoyed/outraged.
Change has to happen right now because nobody wants to be the reason for others getting sick with a novel virus. Holy hell man, this isn't a slippery slope and nobody wants to track you unless its for your best interest- which in this instance is your literal health. Nobody gives a 17 where you are at any given time, but if they do contact you due to you giving a restaurant your phone number, then its because they are trying to keep you healthy.

Oh boo hoo, how terrible of them to create such a socially beneficial policy during this pandemic.**

This thread is almost as bad as the bag of dicks at home depot who complained that he couldn't walk out the 1 way entrance they now have. He fears change and dislikes a disruption to what he is used to, even if its for his own health.

It would do nothing but cause more irrational fear. Remember, this is spread through the air. If you are able to inhale a gas pump, you may have a legitimate concern. Of course the gas pump in your lungs may kill you before the covid.

COVID-19 is not a death sentence. let's stop treating it as if it is.

83,000 Americans have died from it as of this morning. Another 292,000 worldwide. It actually is a death sentence for many, many thousands of people.

In 2016 over a thousand Mississippians died of diabetes. Literally eating themselves to poor health resulting in death. Right now there have been 457 COVID deaths with roughly half of those coming from nursing homes ie elderly AND unhealthy. Can we be less dramatic describing COVID maybe? It’s not a death sentence unless the candy isle at the 7-11 is now death row.

Pretty soon you will have to have The Mark(chip) to buy or sell...
You already have the mark... xxx-xx-xxxx.

It's called a "social security number." But it's really just an analog tactic for verifying your citizenship in order to "be an american." You need it to buy or sell guns, boats, alcohol, cars, houses, insurance, and porn... FDR was working for Bill Gates and Fauci. They used the time machine to go brainwash him.

Nobody is putting a chip in your *** unless you piss on three legs, chase after the neighbors cat, or bark like a maniac when the doorbell rings. You want something to worry about... Think of what your tax rate is going to be in 2022 in order to pay for this..

Never post a link to Fox News if you want it read by the weak-of-heart. They can’t take a news source whose dick doesn’t slightly bend to the left.

Actually their dicks are all shriveled up. Fox 17ers have all been given stay at home orders from corporate, while telling everyone else to get back to work.

If you aren't tuned into OAN media by now, you're on the libtard loser team.

How is it that liberals hate fascist dictators but love tons of aspects abt fascist dictatorships.

Honestly?

So you are ok with them tracking you in the name of covid 19 but you aren’t ok with the NSA listening into phone conversations in the name of terrorism?

Y'all do realize that it's pretty rare for someone to catch the virus from casual contact, like in a restaurant or grocery store. It's not like people with the virus are shooting out super spores that infect everyone within 20 feet of them. The average sick person infects between 1 and 3 people over the course of the disease, and they're infecting the ones they have close contact with. The CDC defines close contact as within 6 feet for at least 10-30 minutes. Sure, it's possible you could get it if someone in the grocery store coughs on you, but for the most part that's not how this is transmitted.

And more than 99% of the people who got the disease didn’t die.
A highly infectious disease with a 1% death rate is something we have not dealt with in a VERY long time here. I keep seeing that figure thrown out there like it's supposed to make everything all right. Its ysually thrown out there by the everybody is going to get it anyway people. Ok, lets look at that. That's 30,000 dead Mississippians and over 3,000,000 dead Americans.

You are most likely correct about grocery stores, but restaurants are different. You don't want to be downwind in the ventilation pattern from some one with COVID for the length of time it takes to eat a meal. There is actually some very detailed contact tracing stuff out there on that.

You may right about the restaurants. Think I might change my mind and just keep getting take-out for a while longer.

Privacy aside, I just think by restaurants taking names of patrons, we're simply pissing in the wind with all this contact tracing. By the time someone tests positive a couple days later, they trace it back to me being in a restaurant with said person, how many places have I been and how many other people have I been in contact with? Just seems you're always working from behind. It'd be different if we all left the restaurant and went straight home for several days and then got the call that we were exposed and need to be quarantined. That's just not reality.
