Prolly because he is not a SEC elite level player and wants more playing time. Coaches have discussions with players every year regarding playing time and roster status and if they should look somewhere else.

This is a watershed year. I know Arkansas is going after high profile grad transfers. It is cut throat. Do you want to win big? Teams have to fill the rosters with immediate help like Arkansas is doing. But we will need lots of help for 2022 bc we will lose a ton next year if my prediction holds true. Go to JC, play a lot and see what happens.

I hate to see Josh Hill leave. We are friends with the family. But I am sure he had discussions with Foxhall about playing time.

Kelly leaving puts us at 2 catchers, correct? I seem to remember that Kelly was getting a lot of praise for having an elite bat and with Lemonis wanting to use what’s his name on the mound some, this could be a problem.

Yeah, my guess is the overall level of talent of outgoing transfers this year is going to be a hell of a lot higher than in year’s past, due to the increased roster sizes, added year of eligibility for all current roster guys, and limited draft. There’s a glut of talent everywhere for 2021 due to COVID, and guys that would normally be on the field for us in 2021 or 2022 at the latest are now in no man’s land. I expect the NCAA will likely do a temporary relaxation of the transfer requirements (eliminate the requirement to sit out) in the spring sports to account for all of the above.
