How bad does Westworld suck?

I finished last season but it was going so far off the rails that I didn’t even attempt to watch this season. The first season was great. That’s where they should have stopped. Everything after season 1 is basically MJ with the Wizards.

I think it would’ve been better if they stayed in Westworld longer. Also, the robots figured out what was happening way too fast. There was way more potential with the old west setting and the riddle of “the maze.”

I couldn't finish season 2 and I tried multiple times after giving it a break. They ruined the show after the first season 2. Too much all over the place. Kind of like the writes just through out all these ideas on the table and went with it without trying to see if it made sense.

This. What was the 17ing rush? They could have stayed in West World for several seasons. Shows try to **** their pants too soon and end up killing the show rushing to the climax. See Game of Thrones and why that show was a complete abortion the last couple seasons.

I thought Season 3 was excellent. It is way better than S2, especially in the plot and storyline departments. I am looking forward to S4, which looks to be jumping even farther into the future because of how S3 ends. It's a very well written show that yes, is hard to follow at times, but paying attention to details helps greatly. Also, the visuals and cinematography are top-notch.

I will say that I agree with some of you. They should have stayed in Westworld for at least one more season.

Consume product, get excited for next product.
You say this as if its a bad thing. People get excited for things they enjoy- its human nature.
Pretty sure people would go watch a Shakespeare play and then when the next was announced, they would get excited for it.

They turned it into a completely different show (spoilers)

and I'm not entirely sure if I like the new show.

William spent all but 2 episodes being completely pointless. The episode of his "treatment" was awesome, and the finale was cool.

Delores... It took way too long for her plan to make any bit of sense, and I spent so long rooting against her, that I didn't care about her death.

Bernard could have been omitted from season 3 and nothing would have changed.

Maeve's motivation was flimsy at best, and every time she used her superpower it felt dumb.

Shedding all the minor character was a horrible idea, especially when half the ones we *did* get were actually just more Delores. This is the biggest failure of season 3. I like Aaron Paul's Caleb, and Serac was a good villian at times, but every other new character spending any amount of time on screen was a waste. Why the 17 was Marshawn Lynch in there?

I guess season 4 will be mid- or post-breakdown of society, with Caleb leading the mob, Charlotte-Delores with Host-William leading a host army, and Maeve leading some other faction? I'll watch it, but I'm not excited about it.

It just requires too much attention for me. If I want to get into the details of tracing storylines, complex plots, and multiple theories, I’ll read a book. I want TV shows to do the work for me. It’s TV.

As much as I liked season 1, season 2 was too much work and I’m only pushing through season 3 to see if it gets any better. I like the concept of the story, there is just too much going on for it to be watchable.

Caleb was a good edition. I like the analogy that regular humans are no different than hosts to the Uber elite Delos folks. But there was a lot that was very confusing. Not normal West world confusing but bad storytelling confusing.
