I tried. My bank told me they weren’t taking anymore applications. Everyone else I spoke with said I had to have a previous relationship to apply.

I have been OK so far, but I don't for one minute assume that everyone else is just doing fine. People can't feed their families. That's a problem. If you can, then be thankful, but don't sit up on high like that idiot AOC who's suggesting that low wage earners boycott work while she earns nearly $200k per year telling others to suffer so she can thrive politically. Many people are not weathering this shut down very well. It has a very harsh impact on those who had the least to begin with. Try to be somewhat compassionate.

And you believe that your business disappearing and no longer providing an avenue for you and your employees to earn a living (i.e. eat) is a better alternative than taking the risk of getting a virus and accepting whatever comes with that?

I want to remodel my home, buy a 4 wheeler, and a zero turn mower. Can’t do that until people i don’t know are forced to work in unsafe conditions before steps are completed to reduce risk. We need to kick start this economy back up. What’s a few hundred thousand deaths? I need my stuff. When it’s your time it’s your time. Right?

A few hundred thousand...hahaha. Be serious dude. How many Walmart employees are dying in your region ? Lowes? Home Depot ? Kroger ? Not sure what is going on in NYC and Italy but it's no more dangerous than any normal flu. Sound off....Baaa baaa.

??? Demand disappearing is exactly what happens in recessions.

You can call the demand curve shifting left "some of the demand disappearing", but that doesn't mean the demand disappears. There is less demand, not zero demand. It's possible there is enough demand for diesel that it produces a market price for gasoline that is basically zero, and it becomes cheaper to burn it than to distribute it in some cases (assuming they are allowed to burn it; people could get paid to take it if they aren't allowed to dispose of it). But it seems unlikely to me that we would simultaneously have an economy so hot that we need that much diesel but not hot enough that we have enough gasoline demand to keep the market clearing price above zero, absent some huge technological change.

It's certainly a slippery slope. And the shutdown cannot go on forever. But without the shutdown, there no doubt would have been many times more cases and likely deaths (even though the workforce is typically younger and therefore affected to a lesser degree than older people). Workers could still bring the disease home and pass it along to parents, grandparents, older neighbors, etc.

Again, checked the name of the source and chose to stop reading at “universal healthcare.”

We are not going to get universal healthcare. Everybody needs to forget that unless they want the ones with the guns and the money to start a civil war.

Everybody gonna have a Still to self medicate and an arsenal to protect their Stills.****
