Ok, everyone has Abbey Road and Exile on Main Street. Here's some lesser known goodness (mostly classic/90's type):

Bob Marley: Talkin' Blues (reason I started this thread when I started blasting it this morning)
Zappa: Roxy & Elsewhere
Govt Mule: Live at Roseland
Derek trucks band: Live at Georgia Theater
Blind Melon: Live at the Palace
Galactic: We Love 'em Tonight
Freeworld (yes, that still play Dave's): Live
From Memphis

These are all live albums (as it happens) available on Spotify. I thought I'd share and ask for some favs from the pack. I'm a big Phish and Dead head, too, but those fans already know where to go for the best live shows.

Whatcha got? I enjoyed the winter thread on new groups and found some good nuggets.

I loved Blind Melon. They were awesome.

Thanks for the reminder on the Palace Show.

Cracker Kerosine Hat. Maybe not lesser known but under appreciated IMO.

Back in HS I liked Fastway. They were a pretty good though lesser known hair band.

Smurphdawg and I saw Lukas, Warren Haynes, et al perform "the last waltz" in DC in November. I had never heard of LN before, but he was a great contributor. He probably had the vocal performance of the night on "forever young." He sounds just like his dad.

I have touted these bands on here before but not necessarily these albums from them:

You in Reverse - Built to Spill
Transference - Spoon
Terror Twilight - Pavement
Star Wars - Wilco
Waiting for Columbus (Live) - Little Feat

Kyng: Burn the Serum
Crobot: Not For Sale

Saw Kyng live in CT in 2016 and there drummer looked like he was fighting off bees. Both bands have some great albums out there. I’m always shocked they both aren’t more popular, but I guess they on the harder side.

Also yes's fragile... If you've never listened to the whole thing straight through. It slaps

Rush's live album Exit...Stage Left rules too

Not necessarily rock...Willie and the Poor Boys.

35 years later still play it very often while working out.

It is indeed. I wore that 8 track out.

I was digging 2112 when no one else knew who they were in school.

I got a copy of High and Dry - Def Leppard when no one knew who they were. I put it on at a party and everyone wanted to borrow it to make a copy. I foolishly let one of my buds take it. Didn't get it back for about 6 weeks as everyone I knew was making a copy.

Mystery Road

I'm not sure how well known they are, some people I know have no idea who they are, some do but early 90s I wore this album out

Cemetaries and junkyards by Jupiter Coyote is a good one

I’m sure this will be a niche response, but for those (I suspect few) who like stoner/desert rock, Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun is a big one.

Verbena “souls for sale” like a mix of nirvana and The Rolling Stones.

My morning jacket “it still moves”

Water Liars “Wyoming” ms boys

Anything by Susto but my fav is their first album

Strand of Oaks “hard love”

Crab Claw just because. Both albums. Funny lyrics but damn good songs. Even better music videos.

Not uncommon for grunge fans, but Temple of the Dog’s only album is on most of my playlists

The Smiths - The Queen is Dead released June 1986.

The Psychedelic Furs - The Psychedelic Furs released March 1980.

Beanland’s 1st album released ??? I’m thinking 1989 or 1990. Somebody help me out with this one.

Somehow in college I started listening to a band out of Boston named Letters to Cleo. They had this lead singer named Kay Hanley who was just badass. I saw them in Memphis open up before The Offspring. Got to buy a couple of the guys in the band a beer and they invited me to go play pool at a place down the street after the show. Fast forward to about 20 years later they played at a free show in Lafayette Square in New Orleans. Got to see them again, get pictures, they gave me their setlist signed. Just always liked them for some reason.

I didn't list an album. As far as an album that I wore out, have always been a huge fan of Glen Phillips and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Coil by Toad is one of my favorite albums ever. It's not really rock...would be more college alternative, I guess.

Probably all too mainstream but these are the few Albums in a lower tier that has no skippers. You will listen to every song.

Dire Straits - Dire Straits
Paul McCartney - Ram
George Thorogood - Move It On Over
Molly Hatchet - Flirtin With Disaster
