This is what happens when you play stupid games with stupid people. Those same people are now calling for "no black players to take the field under Mike Leach"...

Either stand up now to the stupidity or forever be the "*****" to the PC people.

Meh. As long as the players in the locker room are ok with the apology Leach gave, this will be forgotten about within a week by almost everyone. People like Finebaum and Wolken will bring it up every once in awhile to jerk Leach's chain, but the media will chase the next story and forget about it. Best thing now is for our fans and administration to shut up and say it's been handled and move on.

Cohen brought this on himself with his statement SIX DAYS after Leach’s tweet. Leach had apologized and everyone had moved on before Cohen dragged it back out again. How freaking stupid can you be? My God.

Nobody should give this is a click. No matter your opinion on the topic, it's best for State to move forward. Plenty has been done and will be done to make up for the misstep. Sharpe is just trolling for clicks at this point because he isn't intelligent enough to come up with original content with no sports going on.

Well we all know that it's not the end. Why? Because there is still the re-education of Leach and the media will want to know how's that going. FACT!

at this point if you fire john, you have to fire leach. i'm not saying i want to fire leach. i'm just saying from a PR standpoint they will want both. John is tied now more to Leach than he was to Moorhead to outsiders now. If they get rid of Leach, then Cohen needs to go with him. I think Cohen needs to go anyway from just being a terrible AD in handling all things MSU sports. John should have release something last week if he did anything. Just being late has made this issue worse. i have a feeling this is going to snowball out of his control and Leach may not be here in the fall. This feels like a lot like Texas Tech situation in which certain people controlled the narrative until they got what they wanted. John and company didn't do a good job early on and timing and saying the right things are important. Should leach lose his job over this? No. But with the way it's been handled it wouldn't surprise me at all right now.

Losing Vic Schaefer and this stupid, ridiculous statement from our Athletic Director that opened the door for all kinds of craziness over what should be a non-issue may be the worst 2 day period for our athletic department in a long, long time.

I tend to agree with you. How far does the firing go? Who knows.

This story was done. Then Cohen decided he had to drag the dead horse out from the ditch and give all the media members baseball bats- while publicly labeling our coach as racially insensitive.

But I guess that’s what we get for putting a baseball coach in charge of the athletic department.

Do folks really think Cohen unilaterally decided to issue a statement that was issued by the university — not the athletic department? I don’t see why he’s getting all the blame for what was pretty clearly a university decision.

Truth.

Put distance between yourself and people whom act like idiots.

Here's the answer an AD should always give whenever he's asked about the actions of a coach or player: "We're handling this internally, and we have no additional details at this time. When we have an update, we will let you know."

Pretty strong words coming from a guy (Shannon Sharpe) that was accused of sexual assault and had a restraining order filed against him from a woman that claimed he threatened her life in if she didn't have sex with him.

Keep white knighting, Shannon

This is correct. Let it go. Media will be elsewhere in 2 days. I’m in a position wherein I deal with the media regularly. They’re a mob mentality. Everyone once in a while a good journalist will latch onto a story. Buy 99% of the time if U lay low, they’ll move on. Most media today grab a story when it’s fresh but very few follow up on it past 36 hours. They're always looking for the next “new” story. It takes too much effort to dig Further into a story that’s already been reported. And there’s nothing much Else here to dig on. If we can stfu, they’ll go away. Guaranteed.

This thing is Keenum. It was Keenum when Cohen wanted to fire Moorhead and they butchered that and this is the same deal. Cohen was going to let it go and already had it handled, but Keenum...

Yeah and instead of nutting up and letting everyone know how astronomically absurd this all is, Leach will be all like "gosh darnit I just didn't know. My re-education by the thought police really woke me up and I have even cleaned my house of any references to the "n" word (noose). I have even gotten rid of all my ties and belts because they too can be taken the wrong way. I'm really looking forward to my apology tour so I can look like a beaten mule over such atrocities still present within our culture. Thanks."

I'm seriously bewildered. It's amazing how stuff like this blows up out of a joke.

We live in a totalitarian society, most are too blind to see it though because they think having 30 different brand of Corn Flakes to purchase means they have freedom.
