The forgotten generation. Latchkey kids. As millennials and boomers spent the last few years blaming each other for their woes, we knew the truth... They both suck.

We have been waiting for the apocalypse caused by the commies since 1983 when The Day After Tommorow made us all **** our Dukes of Hazard jammies. See, we knew our whole lives what to do when the **** hits the fan.. you veg out on the couch until it all blows by.

For all of you boomers and zoomers. Here are some of the ways Gen X'ers have been training for social distancing since the 1980's:
In early elementary school we came home to find a key under an ash tray on the back porch to get inside. We fed ourselves a Hungry Man tv dinner and played pong on the Atari for hours until one of our divorced parents came home.
A few years later we entertained ourselves by watching videos on MTV for hours on end without ever taking a break, cause nothing was on demand and there were no guides... But you had to see that Beastie Boys - Fight For Your Right video again.
We made mix tapes by spending entire weekends listening to FM radio on our boombox that had to be in your lap so you could smash the record and play buttons at the same time at that perfect moment when the dj quit talking and the beat was kicking in.
We don't need restaurants or frequent grocery store trips. We survived a decade on canned food, frozen meals, and our own geniuses like substituting a fruit roll up for the jelly on a PB&J when we ran out of Smucker's.
We played clue by ourselves... And battleship... And I have to think we invented Uno.
We got our exercise in when the Nintendo Power Pad came out. We trained to become gold medal sprinters and tripple jumpers... With our hands of course.

Gen X invented social distancing... This is our time to shine. Any other examples?
