That's what I was wondering if hospitals can't get them, then wouldn't the public trying to get them compound the problem.

Would be incredibly reckless For the CDC to panic the general public into a mask buying frenzy when 1) the health care community needs them and there's already a shortage and 2) the general public needs to just keep their asses home

Why does this guy go onto Twitter to say that CDC "guidance" (i.e., optional) on masks is "expected to change" in the next 10 days?

Is this a critical message that really needs to be made public at this time?

What if the CDC changes its mind on this within the next 10 days? If they do, then this guy may cause people to (further) panic for no reason whatsoever.

Also, does this - "Americans will be advised to wear masks in everyday life" - mean I need to wear a mask inside my house?

I don't mean to offend anyone, but I'm going to ignore this guy's message.

Ok we know this is BS but I still believe there will temporarily be masks in many of our lives (as they become available) at some point as we transition this thing back to some state of normality.

I have a box of surgical masks I ordered from Amazon a year or two ago, primarily to use when I'm mowing. Also got two boxes of nitrile gloves at the same time.

The wife of one of my golf buddies went to Costco Thursday or Friday to pick up prescriptions. I suppose they didn't have any masks, so she was wearing a bandanna over her nose and mouth, and nitrile gloves. He said she was uptight about looking like a bandit. But, it's becoming the norm.

After she got home, she got a call from Costco telling her that one of the people who worked in the pharmacy had tested positive. Not sure if they'll be able to use the meds she picked up or not.

I understand that Tommy Battle, mayor of Huntsville, is self-quarantining because he came into contact with somebody who tested positive. I had wondered about that since the Mayor of Madison was handling the daily briefings for several days now.
