Democrats will blame every death going forward on Trump once the place opens up again. If Trump keeps it closed he will get blamed for not opening the country back up.. knowing that If the U.S. Closes for 3-4 months, people will die (Starvation/crime/civil unrest) from a 50 percent unemployment rate (depression). This is a 100 percent no win situation for any president.
*Additionally, Look for surviving spouses and family members to speak at the DNC before
The election with great anger toward Trump for ‘killing’ their family members as well and caring more about money than their family. This election will be mainly about demonizing him and not about real policy.

2020 was always going to be a referendum on trump. Just like 2012 was a referendum on Obama

^^^ This is correct. Every presidential election where the incumbent is running for office is a referendum on the presidency.

Dems ain't gonna like this

The United States was ranked the best-prepared country in the world to handle a pandemic in late 2019 by the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) and the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security (JHCHS) -- an assessment seemingly at odds with claims by Democrats that the Trump administration left the country vulnerable to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
The Global Health Security Index was was "developed with guidance from an international panel of experts from 13 countries, with research by the Economist Intelligence Unit" from 2018 to 2019, The Washington Post reported last year. "More than 100 researchers spent a year collecting and validating publicly available data.”

Saw that. They don't have truth on their side. They have spin and complicit media.

I dunno about landslide. It'll be close. Just hard for me to believe that Americans would vote a guy who probably has dementia and when the ads start running from late 1980s showing all his lies about his education and family, plagiarizing numerous speeches and then he sticks his foot in his mouth repeatedly debating DT, I can't see folks voting for him.

It's actually sad. I'm not making fun of Biden.

It's not going to be close. Think about what you're just saying. Hillary was unbeatable and none of these candidates are close to her.

I'm not gonna be surprised if he wins, but I think it'll will come down to the same states it came down to last time. I definitely don't think it will be a "landslide". I think there is too much polarization for that to happen.

As far as comparing Biden against Hillary, I just don't think Biden is as hated as she was. There were a lot of people that were basically like "no 17ing way I'm ever voting for her, no matter who the opposition is". I don't think its like that as much with Biden.

ETA: with Biden running, I'll be surprised if he (Trump) doesn't win. Biden's just not an exciting guy.

The presidential election boils down to Florida and a half dozen states in the rust belt. A landslide in the electoral college could rely on less than 1% of the population swinging one way or the other.... I highly doubt we will see a landslide in the presidential election.

Reagan won 97.6% of the electoral college and 58.8% of the Popular vote in 84'. That was a landslide. Whoever wins in 2020 will be by the skin of their teeth.

Ya'll are dreaming. Trump will win by a landslide and it won't be close. The Democrat's just put the final nail in their coffin with the stunt they pulled on this stimulus package.
Normal level headed people will not pull the lever for the Democrats anymore. The Democrat party is split, this will finish it off.

My long standing hope in all federal elections is that one party end up in the white house and the other control Congress just so they can't screw things up too severely or rapidly. Given the very little that any of them do for anyone other than themselves, it's best that they all be thwarted at every turn by partisan opposition.

The Dems will need to model Biden's campaign after Cochran's 2014 Mississippi senate run for him to have any chance and I don't think that will work on the national stage.

If Trump wins then the Dems can only blame themselves for backing Hillary and Biden. I was not a big Obama fan, but he is a significantly better candidate than what they’ve tried to beat Trump with.

I am a Trump supporter but I realize he is incredibly polarizing and not without flaws. The Democrats have lost their minds trying to beat him though to the point where rationale and logic feels long gone.

It will be close, and it will come down to turnout. Turnout was low for the 2016 election. There could be a lot of turnout against Trump. That being said, it's hard to unseat an incumbent. It's gonna be a real toss up unless something changes.

It will come down to African American voter turnout and middle class moms in the suburbs. Those two groups will go for Biden.

I think Biden's mental health is going to be a issue. They are shielding him by only letting him speak 10 minutes at a time because they are scared to what crazienest he is going to say. It is what it is. Just watch him. It is obvious he has something wrong with him. Did you see his attempt yesterday to try and stay relative? He looked like someone who needed a silver alert put out on.

I dont see Biden on TV very much and I watch a fair amount of news. He should be live streaming every day in some form during this crisis to audition for the role.

There can be a lot of stupid in these threads, but it rarely fails that D61 manages to one-up them. Good to see he's on top of his game today.

There’s a reason he isn’t on very much. Have you seen clips from the few times he has tried?
In a Trump/Biden debate, I could see Biden getting so flustered that he calls Trump an ******* pony soldier and invites him outside. Being a politician requires the ability to talk out of both sides of your mouth. That is hard when you cant remember the lie you just told yesterday much less the lies over decades. Joe gets frustrated and wants to throw hands.

The debates could be very interesting.

During the 2016 primaries Trump consistently beat the polls by 7 ti 12% in every primary. He beat the polls in many state in the general election. He always does better then what polls say he is going to do. You can take any poll that is negative on Trump you can decrease that negative by 7% to 12% and any poll that is positive on Trump you can add 7% to 12%. Who knows why. It could be many reason. I tell you this he has not lost any votes. Everyone who voted him last time that is still alive will vote for him again. Most likely he has pick up millions of votes since last time. He will win the same states he won last time but go ahead and add at lest two to four more. They will be smaller states.

I have a theory that a handful of "influential" people could form a moderate party and win 30-40 seats in the House and 4-5 in the Senate and really make it awesome. Neither D's or R's would have a majority and would have to work with the M's, cause this past week has proven they will never work together again.

The majority of Americans still fall in the middle and see good points from both parties at times. Wouldn't it be crazy if we could have a system that compromised and got things done that most Americans agree with...

Legal marijuana, legalized sports gambling, move social issues back to states so people in California and Mississippi can agree to disagree, lower federal taxes, take better care of the sick and elderly and kick the lazy freeloaders out on their asses, balanced budget law, term limits, .... Wouldn't it be amazing?

That's, um, not a good look for Trump if he squandered an even bigger advantage than we realized. Hopefully he proves me wrong.
